What is a fair trade for Kurt Tippett?

With any luck, Tippett will re-sign and this will be nothing more than speculation. However, Roo's comments from the last few days are getting worrying.

Gorringe + 2nd Rounder or Day/Tippett from GC or Pick 8 + Fringe Lion (Clarke possibly) would be reasonable in my opinion. Key Forwards of Tippett's ability are very rare and I think Adelaide should be compensated accordingly, but having said that- he hasn't lived up to the potential he showed at the end of 2009 as much as we hoped. He is a vital part of Adelaide's structure and "almost" indispensible, but Gold Coast and Brisbane deserve a reasonably fair trade.

A big NO to Gorringe. Not worth it.

Crows should only accept Sam Day or a draft pick that would net us Brodie Grundy.

I'm interested to know why you would say a big no to Gorringe, but then say that you want Sam Day? Big guys take time to develop, and from what I've seen, neither has really done anything to put one ahead of the other at this stage. Their value is still very much based on potential, and of the two, Gorringe is far more likely to become a player in the style of Tippett than Day is.

Personally, I'd prefer Grundy to either of them, but getting pick #2 is highly unlikely.

Doubt we would give Clark up. He is pretty much our only young promising KPD on our list.

Maybe someone like Cornelius?

I think something like our compo pick and Banfield/Cornelius would be close to getting the deal done. then maybe a 3rd round pick upgrade?

Third round pick is meaningless and Cornelius etc close to worthless.

So your offer is the compo pick? Pass.

Start with eight and something, and you're getting more reasonable.

What would Adelaide FC need?
Another KPF or KPD maybe?
would like to get some feed back from some Adelaide fans on what there team needs

absolute highway robbery for gc and us, ill have a crack though, without knowing exactly what the crows want

GC Tippet, Lonergan
EFC Caddy, Henderson
AFC GC 2nd rounder, Pears, Gorringe, Ess 2nd rounder

seems more fair to me, crows get a kpd and a former top 10 pick, as well as draft picks sub pick 35, essendon get caddy and henderson, and gold coast get their marquee man, as well as a bonus mature body.

not saying this is perfect but it is more fair than the above
This is interesting. I'm a big Hendo fan, but if he's interested in a return to Victoria I think this would be a good trade for us.

i think its a good trade for everyone, although some on the essendon board would call to trade hooker instead of pears, i would be prepared to give up the pears, 2nd rounder and lonergan package of it got us caddy and a quality ball user in henderson.

From GC: Pick 2 for Tippett and Adelaide's 2nd rounder, or straight swap for Sam Day
From Bris: 1st and 2nd round pick (or decent player) to Adelaide for Tippett and 2nd round pick

Are you forgetting that GC need to shed 7 spots on there list. With that trade you give them 2 players and 2 extra draft picks.

That's a shocking trade for GC, they are basically giving up Caddy and Gorringe and a second rounder for Tippett and Lonergan, who is a very average fringe player. Essendon are the big winners there (unsurprisingly) offloading Pears (not best 22, surplus to there needs), Lonergan and a second round pick for two very good young players who would be easily first 22 players.

What type of player or draft pick would Adelaide want for Tippett?
Probably not anything Essendon can offer in a multi-way trade, and that's no indictment on your team, its just you're already tied up with Daniher etc.

Brisbane's pick 8 + late pick or Gorringe + second rounder is what I'd go for.

Wouldn't rule out a three way trade with WCE and Brisbane, if the Eagles lure Rich, with us getting Lycett + second pick or something like that.

Sorry about being aggressive before, just lots of people proposing free agents in trades.

i'm incredibly aware, which is why we could even snag josh toy as well in this trade if we pushed.
where are these 2 draft picks you speak of?

Are you part of the Essendon board? this is exactly the kind of shafting you tried last year only to be put back in your box. How about we keep Caddy and you have Toy, sound fair?

That is Essendons idea of a fair trade or so I have come to understand after there attempts to get Caddy last year, give nothing but expect the world
