The amount of players on the interchange bench.

I think when it was just 4 players without a sub was fine, 3 players with the sub limits the game. I think there should be 2 subs (where the choice of one sub can be activated) or put another player on the bench.

Or because he made significant contributions to Football in Australia....

Jim Stynes never played in the A-League or the old NSL, nor did he play for the Socceroos, so I don't know what you're on about.

Jim Stynes is in the Australian Football hall of fame because he excelled in Australian Football .

The Gaelic Football hall of fame is for people who excel in Gaelic Football, not for people who make significant contributions to football in Gaelic. Maybe you should take your rubbish elsewhere.

Anyway I'm out, I don't like arguing with ignorant people.

Well, you're not arguing with yourself, so what's the problem?

I call the round ball sport football because it's the actual name of the sport, hence why the Fox Sports site, the Roar site and any serious sports sites (apart from the Yank ones, but I can't take them seriously when they have a list of the world's most hated sporting teams and have no teams from outside America - after all I'm pretty sure Collingwood is more hated than any American college basketball team, but that's a whole different argument) and magazines refer to the name of the sport as football.

Mine is that you should pick Indigenous players with caution come finals

What like Chris Lewis in the 1990 finals series.
Or Peter Matera in 1992
Or Michael Long in 1993
Or Byron Pickett in 2004
Or Gavin Wanganeen or Andrew Mcleod and so on.

Or what about a little known Shane Bond that kicked a vital goal in the 1994 GF for WCE.

In Melbourne most people refer to Aussie Rules as "Football" and the ones who say "Football" when they mean soccer are usually FOBS:thumbsu: . I know in NSW/QLD "football" means rugby so there really is no where that soccer is "football" in Australia.

Oh really? Thousands wouldn't, but I'll believe you

Or Buddy Franklin.

Or Jeff Farmer, who kicked 8 for us in the 2000 Prelim, and then another 3 in the Grand Final.

Or Chris Johnson, who was integral to Brisbane's three Premierships.

Raphael Clarke, who was one of the Saints' best throughout their 2008 and 2009 finals campaigns.

I think it's fair to say there are many people in Australia who call both sports "football". I'm one of them. Personally, if I need to distinguish between the two, I say "Australian Football", when I'm talking about this game, and "Association Football" as far as the round-ball game is concerned.

Brendan Goddard's best is behind him now.

Has played very few elite game turning matches compared with his reputation.

Not in the best 25 players in the comp.

One of my strong opinions that I know some people will not agree with... is that if your club dies you have no right to choose another club and support them.

As far as I am concerned if your club goes you go as well. By all means.. feel free to continue watching football but in no way can you ever call yourself a real supporter of another club. You are a turncoat.

Would you count that with Mergers as well?

I assume by "merger" you mean Brisbane/Fitzroy. What happened with Fitzroy was more about delivering a premiership to QLD to grow the game than it had anything to do with keeping Fitzroy alive.

If I was an ex Fitzroy supporter the last club I would be supporting is Brisbane. That's like getting married to your rapist.

So yes... I don't believe any ex-Fitzroy supporter should be supporting any AFL club and pretending like they are a passionate supporter.

Somehow, I question the sincerity of the poster above. He's been cynically trying to troll Fitzroy people about what was done to our club on the Bay since time immemorial.

As far as that post goes, as someone who has always supported Fitzroy and will continue to do so wherever we play, on behalf of all Fitzroy people who support an AFL club as well, a large number of whom obviously post around BF just as I do, I would respond thusly:

In the parlance of the Demons board, Oh Darling can GAGF.

The 2005 grand final is overrated - close game doesn't necessarily equal good game.

Dwayne Russell has a good voice for commentary. What he actually says is awful, but it's at the stage where it's "so bad it's good".

People complain too much about things they can control. If you don't want to wait in long queues for shit food at inflated prices, pack your own.

"X would've won if they'd kicked straight" is a useless excuse. Goal kicking is a skill like any other, if you can't perform it adequately you don't deserve to win, regardless of whether you dominate every other statistical category.

Beat me to it.

It's just a cop out. If it's not acceptable to say "we would have won if we had more contested possessions/clearances/tackles etc", then it is not acceptable to say it for inaccuracy.

2. Johnathon Brown should play for half pay for his next contract. His output in the last few years has been dismal whilst on megabucks. This with other factors included have caused good players to leave the brisbane lions at a time when they need to be competitive.Everybody seems to just blame the fev trade.

Although I dont disagree, the Pies will be in the same position with Cloke in 4 years time if they give him his mega bucks.

The AFL should put a media band on Collingwood with any talk about perceived advantages interstate club may have...OR Risk losing their perky draws with limited interstate traveling, and monopoly on big games and ideal time slots!
