You’ve seen every movie from 30 years ago?

It’s not a huge deal but I’d leave very specific pointers out of most reviews unless it’s a famous plot device.
No and if I haven’t there’s a fairly good chance I’m either not going to see it OR it’s not important enough to me that having it spoiled isn’t going to be an issue.

Rush Hour. Right now on 7mate. Damn i love this movie.

Never gets old.

Never noticed this either- but before they go into that bar near the start, he says to Jackie "Now follow my lead- and do exactly what I do".

Didnt even realise or make the connection between that and "Whats up... my N****er" :tearsofjoy:
Like I just thought Chan did that off his own bat, but no he was actually following direct instructions.

World Movies had Argentine film The Heist of the Century - 8/10 very good movie based on true story of extraordinarily clever bank robbery. Guillermo Francella the standout. If you ever get the chance watch him in then The Clan, eeriest stare in movies

It’s 30 years old...

There was a ****head in some thread elsewhere that had nothing to do with movies randomly gave away who dies at the end of The Last Jedi like 2 days after it came out.

Two movies this evening.

Follow Me - A cross between Saw, Hostel and Escape Room. Was just ok. 5/10.
Run With the Hunted - Almost like a modern day Oliver Twist. Again was just ok. 5/10

Just finished watching Minari, an Oscar contender about a Korean family living in California in the 1980s that moves to Arkansas so the husband can start his own farm to grow Korean vegetables. His plan is to sell them down in Dallas to an ever growing Korean immigrant population. They find difficulties in both their family life and the start up of the farm. The film has had very good reviews and is on many lists by critics for a Best Picture Nomination at this year's Academy Awards. I really enjoyed it.

How good is granny?

'Ready or Not'

Another in the line of post 'Get Out' horror/satire films which touches on class and has dashes of comedy amongst its gore.

It's ok, if nothing special. It's a tricky genre balance to successfully pull off and it does a decent job of it.

I think this 2019 movie will most likely be remembered for the shot to stardom it might give Aussie actress Samara Weaving (Hugo's niece). I reckon COVID came at a bad time for her, as this is a real star-making performance. She might end up being to Home & Away what Neighbours was for Margot Robbie.

Our Friend: 8.5/10 -- this one really got me, some great performances by the cast, particularly Caey Affleck who is always great, a real tear jerker and beautifully made...one to the best films of the last 12 months

It’s not the results that count, it’s the furthering of his character & life experience. 🙄🤣🤣👍

The man beat communism.

I think its 3-2 isnt it?

Rocky - Decision Loss
Rocky II - Win
Rocky III - Win (after a loss)
Rocky IV - Win (argurably not recorded as exhibition)
Rocky V - Not a recorded fight
Rocky Balboa - Decision Loss (argurably not recorded as exhibition)

Best case scenario 3-2 likely scenario 2-1

+1 on Promising Young Women. A rare recent thriller that actually sticks the landing.

In & of Itself - Best to go in completely blind on this part magic show, part human introspection, part completely indescribable. The first frame is just a title card telling you to turn off your phones and any distractions, and 100% it worked.

He also lost to Appollo in the secret re-match.
