Can you elaborate? What is it about. /yes I realise google is right there, but I cbf'd.

It's based in the Detroits riots in 1960, mostly focuses on a group of cops who seize a hotel and keep the people staying there detained, trying to forcefully get a confession over something.

Some really good stuff in this film. Will Poulter kills it.

I will try and catch it not this weekend, but next. Is a pain my local's not screening it.

Had a horrible weekend and Foxtel movies really came to the rescue with some mindless drivel last night

Die Hard: With a Vengence
Easily the second best Die Hard movie, Wills and Jackson just doing the cop/civilian buddy thing. Interestingly with the race/terrorism angle I doubt this gets made or even aired today (I know they edited the famous sandwich board scene for commercial TV) 8/10

Deep Blue Sea
Jesus this really is a garbage film but Tom Jane steals the show. Props for Samuel and Saffron getting killed off thought 5/10

Ghost Ship
Ahhhh remember Dark Castle and their spate of horror films in the late 90's early 2000's. I loved their schtick, its ashame they didnt last. This is an underrated horror for mine. Couple of good scares, good setting and a sneaky good cast (Gabriel Byrne, Juliana Marguiles, Karl Urban and a young Emily Browning) 7.5/10
The sign was digitally added into the movie, Bruce was standing there with a blank white board, they didn't want to put the writing on there for real

Tom Jane is an underrated actor

Dark castle had some good movies

My wife was all "why did she need to take off the wetsuit" and I actually justified it "wetsuit is rubber so she doesn't get electrocuted, it's science"
My wife just says boobs when she takes the wet suit off

The Big Sick.

Quite enjoyed this one, it was pretty funny but also more emotional than I was expecting. 8/10.
yeah I really enjoyed it, kind of autobiographical too, written by him and his wife though they did add or change things to make it more of a movie

Valerian.

One of only few movies I can turn a blind eye to all its failings, for a few highlight moments.
Some of the visuals and set-pieces here are simply A-Grade. The story and acting just have to take a back-seat.

Can't rate it, because I'd have to split the ratings up in too many segments.

Along with A Cure for Wellness it's my biggest guilty pleasure of 2017. Both star Dane DeHaan too, he's a B-movie superstar.

I just watched A Cure For Wellness, kind of came unstuck, started well though

Thor: Ragnarok: Finally went to see it today! I was really impressed with it, I thought the humour that was thrown in was great especially the bit at the start where Thor is locked up and he talking to the audience it would seem but then there is a skeleton there. Speaking of the start of the movie the fight/action scene when Immigrant Song starts playing was fantastic!! Then it happened again at the end!! :D:D:D 9/10

Does anyone know where Ragnarok falls into the Marvel/Avengers storyline? It seems like it wouldve been good to see Guardians 1 and 2 and Doctor Strange maybe as well?

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

The best book and the best movie. It benefits greatly from a tighter script, being the second shortest film in the series (not including the two part Deathly Hallows). The tighter script allows it to focus on the plot and the characters, and less of the what I would call book stuff, the stuff in between the main events. It's still possibly the darkest movie, but it walks the line the best. Other films try to push the dark and adult stuff but it's not balanced well with the PG rating and comes off a bit half baked. It's hard to describe the PoA doesn't feel like that. The acting is always a bit iffy with kids trying to not let their puberty get the better of their delivery, but the adult cast is great, notably the new Dumbledore, and Professor Lupin. The music is memorable, the last HP film scored by John Williams. It still has a few bad things, a few key scenes from the book that didn't make it to screen, inconsistency within the universe, etc, however it's strong film that as a fan of the books does the best job at the adaption.

9/10

Murder on the Orient Express.

Full of mostly good actors playing mostly boring characters. Branagh is the stand out though his supporting cast don't get much to do other than being suspected for murder while he tries to unravel a needlessly dramatic mystery.

Felt like this film needed a good 30-45 minutes to develop it's supporting tier, though it was 113 minutes and I was kinda happy when it was finished. It's not bad but not good either and it tries to be so much smarter than it needs to be, though the mystery isn't really that hard to solve.

2/5

13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi

Wow, what a surprise from Michael Bay. Basically plays out like a lesser version of Black Hawk Down or We Were Soldiers (which is no slight as they are two fantastic war films) with a slower start to build the setting and tension, before shit hits the fan and the last hour is almost non stop action. If Michael Bay had made more films like this he wouldn't be a walking punchline. It's serious and mature, with fine performances from a cast that I didn't recognise. The action scenes are great, showing something I always felt Bay could do if he stopped ****assing about with CGI robots and turtles and PG ratings and whatever else he's wasted the last decade doing. It's easy to follow and very grounded in a realistic way, but with no polish and finesse spared. A few complains would be it is difficult to tell the characters apart at times, and there are still a few (though far less than normal) Michael Bay moments of unwelcome humour and pro-America themes.

7.5/10

1st Viewing. Love my caper movies and this did not disappoint. I like when a big cast gets together like Ocean's 11 or The Expendables because you think it's too good to be true for all these big stars to share the screen together but somehow it works and Sneakers is no different. It's a very fun and humorous film and too bad a sequel wasn't made considering it made over $100 million at the box office. 8/10

I remember this film being pretty good, and advanced for its time as far as spy gear goes yeah?? Had totally forgotten about it but not a bad suggestion to go back and watch again.

Never understood the flak for this. One of the more suspenseful movies that I can remember. I saw it in 3D as well though, so maybe that had a big impact.
Yeah definitely needs to be seen in context to do it justice, preferably the cinema or at the very least a decent size TV in good quality. You can just imagine half the haters posting bad reviews were probably downloading cam versions and watching on laptops.
