I saw a movie on Prime called Escape Room. So I looked it up on IMDB and saw that it had got a 6.4, which is a pretty decent score on IMDB for a horror/thriller. So I started to watch it and started thinking, "This is terrible ". I kept on with it thinking that maybe the ending was the reason for the good score. But nope it got even worse and the ending was abysmal. I looked it up on IMDB again to find out why people had rated it so highly. Only to find that the Escape Room which had scored 6.4 was from 2019. However there was another movie also called Escape Room from 2017, which turned out to be the one I watched. It has a rating of 4.1. So, if you're going to watch a movie called Escape Room, make sure it's the one from 2019, not 2017.
So describe what you watched. Because i saw one about a month ago and i loved it- thought it was quite clever like a mix of Saw and The Game

/nm googled. I saw 2019

Watched The Dry last night at the new Palace at Pentridge. Nifty setup they have there. Think it will become my go-to.

I'd give it a 7/10, but the whole time I was thinking it's just a poor man's version of In My Father's Den, a New Zealand film from 2004. Similar premise but I think done to a lot higher quality. I'd highly recommend that anyone that liked The Dry to track it down.

Theres quite a few things i would have done differently (and im sorry but better) in The Dry. I still say the second to last scene was just stupid af and very disappointing.

Will keep an eye out for that film. Parents finally getting nbn i should be able to DL it there..?

Watched For a Few Dollars More last night as it was on Fox Classics. Van Cleef terrific but guy who plays Indio stole the show. Leone a genius, the music, shots, dirt and sweat...brilliant

There's Something About Mary.

First watch in 20 years or so, remembered it as being hilarious, but its dated really badly. Still some funny bits but at 2 hours and 10 mins way too long.
At least Cameron Diaz never wore a bra so her nipples kept my attention for the whole film
5/10

Yep i agree is very tired now. 7 minute abs probably the funniest scene.

James Cameron's The Abyss (1989)

I think i watched the directors cut because it was almost 3 hours and IMDB has it at 2 hours 20 mins. Great film, brilliant special effects for a film made that long ago but i found the last 20 mins or so which i found ridiculous. Still worth a watch. Best described as Alien under the sea. 9/10 for the first 2 1/2 hours. 5 out of 10 for the ending.

Ammonite - Francis Lee's follow up to the great LGBT film God's Own Country, this features Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan as the noted 19th century paleontologist Mary Anning and geologist Charlotte Murchison. Entirely fictitious, it is about their relationship working together, progressing into a romantic attraction between the two of them. This film was a little slow going, but I enjoyed it and found the two great leads worked well together. While not as great as Lee's prior film, great performances from two of the best actresses of their respective generations make this worth watching.

The White Tiger - based on Aravind Adiga's Booker Prize winning novel, this tells of a young man in India's rise from poverty into great economic success. Worming his way into becoming a driver for a wealthy family and realising how taken for granted he is by them, he plots his way into becoming indispensable to them and then for more. With themes reminiscent of Parasite, it isn't quite as enthralling and shocking a critique of the modern corrupt, capitalist system as that classic masterpiece is, but still a very good movie, with a protagonist who remains charming and someone you're cheering on, no matter how increasingly awful his actions become.

Crazy. Him going down that deep to find the aliens at the end was an awesome pay off.

Bill & Ted Face the Music

It wasn't the most excellent movie I've ever watched, but it certainly wasn't a bogus journey either :p. I've read opinions where the second half was better than the first half........... I thought the first half was better myself though. The daughters were good in parts, average in others (granted I thought the blonde/Bill's daughter was too try hardish, while Ted's daughter was bang on in the mannerisms.... not so much in speaking though).

3/5
