Continued in Part 7:

Yeh, if you’re in Vic I cannot recommend highly enough ******* village off for Hoyts.

They’ve renoed them, all recliners and ******* NO ONE goes to Hoyts. Except for maybe Chaddy

Mate.

F******* Village is the pits. Wife and I have sacked it after seeing Indy at Gold Class.

GC food choices have become worse and more expensive, and without fail, recliners all dirty AF and popcorn down the side too.

Horribly overpriced too. Def going Hoyts next, standard screening far better value than Village GC.

I did Village Gold Class for years, purely because we got discount tickets and less people generally meant less deadshits in the cinema. I’ll actually be pretty happy the day everything is available for streaming pretty quick.
I tried watching this and turned it off. Really wasn't doing much for me.
I didn’t mind it but it was meandering and pretty odd.

Going to the movies with a child under 1 is pretty much impossible. Well not impossible, but it's difficult. Factoring in naps, feeds etc etc, it makes it hard.

And yeah I turned it off after 45 minutes. It was a shame considering it got a pretty good wrap on here.

Any recs for something to watch tonight?

I thought it was great. Definitely a movie you need to commit to and watch, not half watch while doing something else.

Perfect movie for the cinema for me.

my wife would have hated it, went with a mate who was also keen on seeing it

Village in Geelong with standard tickets is fine. The seats are comfy, screen and sound are good quality. There's usually plenty of spare seats so you can avoid sitting behind the Belmont ruckman.

I don't really get the attraction for Gold Class. Crappy, overpriced food, that you can't see in the dark. If you go with a romantic partner you are more separated from them than in the regular theatre. Enjoy a nice meal before or after the movie, where you can see what you are eating and have nice conversation.

I watched it on a plane. I enjoyed it but my wife watched a few minutes of it on my screen and asked me what it was about and it was a battle to explain it.

Funnily enough the last time that happened was with hereditary. My wife definitely thinks I’m a complete weirdo.

So not a plane film. It's shot so beautifully and it's a quiet movie mostly.

How do you explain an allegory for the thr Irish civil war other than its a dark sad weird film.

So we're half way through the year. What have been the stand out movies so far? I'm finding quite a few watchable but not great movies.

6/10

Fast X
John Wick 4
The Portable Door
Infinity Pool
Cocaine Bear
Dungeons and Dragons

The only one I can give a 7/10 is Sisu.

My 2022 best movies were better than most of these.

Is Cocaine Bear any good? Saw it pop up today, seems unusual lol

For some reason, I’d missed Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. Must have missed that it was him and the write up just sounds grim without the realisation that it’s also going to be funny. Watched it about two months ago, was fantastic.
Yeah I watched In Bruges and then 3 billboards and decided I wanted to see this at the movies.

Still need to watch his other two movies Seven psychopaths and six shooter

I was in business class, I’d argue there’s not a better way to watch a movie tbh.
You'd be wrong but feel free to argue it, it's friday night after all.
