For us it feels like form and fitness need to finally combine. We've been waiting all year for this and we'll finally have our best 22 together on the field.

Win next Friday night and then wait around all weekend for results to hopefully fall out way, ideal results would be.
Carlton beat Melbourne Saturday night... Sydney beat Collingwood Sunday and we go into the final round in 3rd place, if Melbourne win we'll be 4th.
West Coast to beat Fremantle and Hawthorn to beat Richmond would be good too, would love Richmond to miss the 8, could cause some damage if they make it.

Unfortunately because of Freo's run home, we would still need to win 2/2 otherwise freo steals our spot
Back from the game and t 3 quarter time we were over the moon - thought we might just be back and then we produce that utter crap when 4th was on the line and percentage was crucial.
Sure the win is important, as it would have been against Essendon and Richmond, but so is percentage. We concede 8 goals to Carlton when they'd only kicked 3 quarters to go withe conceding the last 3 goals against the Giants b/c why would you want a 10 goal win when you can have a 7 goal and then the same against the Dogs conceding the last.
This current team is so frustrating. You are upset when you lose, but then equally, even wins are regulalry soured. Sure it is better than driving 2 hours for a game and only winning 1 of 6 like we did for so many years, but expectations grow and a 33 point win is deflating when top 4 is so critical. Just can't believe these players or coaches are so undrilled in the importance of percentage that they get so happy and never play to the final siren.
And the club's excuses are just as sickening.

I'm thinking the other way. Pies to keep winning and if we finish third, we meet them at a packed MCG in a qualifying final. Would be amazing for our team.

I don't want to finish 5th or 6th and play Richmond in an elimination final, would not be confident of beating them even at the Gabba.
We should beat the Saints Friday night and the form the Demons are in at the moment I fancy our chances of beating them the following Friday night at the Gabba.

Surely if we’re good enough to beat the demons then we’re good enough to beat Richmond

I think we match up slightly better on the Demons than the Tigers, Tom Lynch gets us every time and Shai Bolton is just unstoppable at the moment, their chaos footy catches us out, IMO they are a quicker team than the Demons as well which is our achilles heel.
Also the Demons seem to be down on form and Tigers hitting some form.

If we have Starce and Bailey playing, I'm confident of holding Bolton off.
We just need Starce, Kiddy, Berry and Ah Chee to be in the best 22. Prior hopefully finds form soon and gets added there. Together, these 5 effectively do the gut running, non-glamorous 2 way work for our team. They can run back and help our defense, provide intercept cover in the wing etc. When this is working well, our offensive weapons can do what they do best.
