All the teams look like they have a hard run home, not many games against teams in that list of 12 still in the hunt for finals... I have highlighted the few games against the bottom 6 sides. Anything can happen still, we could finish anywhere from top 2 to 7th IMO. Suns have the easiest draw on paper, big chance of finals footy. I think our fate re top 2/4 could come down to round 23 v the Demons at the Gabba.

At this stage I'll be really happy if we can win our next 2 and see where we're at.

We're not really going well enough to be guaranteed beating anyone in a final so lets hope we get better.

At least we still have a higher percentage than Fremantle, hopefully today was the worst of it and in the coming weeks our players can largely avoid covid and we can go back to having some stability in our list. Need to bounce back big time from this and string together a few consecutive wins because our form has been W-L-W-L-W-L for a while now. We can probably only afford 1 loss for the remainder of the season depending on other results. Who knows with health & safety protocols now we know no game is a guaranteed win.

Last 6 weeks form ladder >

Cats > 6-0, 158.5%
Magpies > 6-0, 113.6%
Dockers > 5-1, 117.8%
Suns > 4-2, 139.2%
Swans > 4-2, 120.6%
Port > 4-2, 118.8%
Blues > 3-3, 121%
Bulldogs > 3-3, 110%
___________________________
Tigers > 3-3, 109.9%
Bombers > 3-3, 100.4%
Lions > 3-3, 97.8%
Demons > 2-4, 97.6%
Giants > 2-4, 94.3%
Crows > 2-4, 88.6%
Saints > 2-4, 84.2%
Hawks > 1-5, 78.5%
Eagles > 1-5, 64.5%
Kangaroos > 0-6, 48.6%

Covid is the X factor. We've been hit, and the same will happen to other teams. Think it is going to cause a lot of upsets for the next month. Hopefully things fall out way, and we are free of it.

Though defenders all out says it passed through that group at training, and the forwards/miss weren't exposed.

Maybe we need to do the split training like last year - groups with mixed forwards/mids so we don't lose en mass again.

Still exciting....just with a bit of ho hum thrown in. Depends who's in it as well.

I enjoy Melb Cup Day better if we aren't participating in GF

What are the chances of getting a ticket if your team isn't in it?

Do lions Melbourne members with memberships in all shapes and sizes get priority and to tickets?

6-8 is going to be us if we are lucky. Don’t think there’s much chance of top 4 with form and Covid. Likely straight exit again unfortunately
I feel like finishing 5 or 6 is now going to be a massive achievement and is probably the best we can hope for and then who knows from there - all covid dependent though i think

On another note, what's it like on Grand final weekend in Melbourne if you're team isn't in the gf?
the pubs will be chockers and a lot of people host parties on the day .

its a public holiday weekend so a fair few people leave melbourne proper to go to their holiday homes / camping.

the weather can vary whats going on a lot

chances of getting a ticket legitimately if you arent a member of a competing team and dont have connections to MCC / corporate / medallion club style deals are very slim. there will always be scalpers though. just expect to pay through the nose to get a ticket in that case

I doubt the average Joe Lions supporter would get a GF ticket unless the Lions are in it and they are a September Member... which I and our group are, hopefully one day we get to go to the MCG and see our boys win a flag, it would beat the last time I went in 2004.

Not sure on that one Gadzorks: You'll probably need to ask someone better informed than me.....or even the club perhaps.

Sorry for slow reply, hadn't seen your post.

You can pay a grand or two and get a GF package that includes tickets pretty easily... the actual appetite for that kind of outlay is mixed.

Actually wanted Freo to beat Swans and Geelong beat Carlton. Sydney have a relatively easy three games of the five remaining; playing Crows, GWS, Nth, Collingwood, St.Kilda so I think they are now a chance for top 4.

Geelong beating Carlton was a good result. I think 3rd and 4th spots is between Lions, Swans, Freo. Collingwoods % is too low so don't see them finishing ahead of us.
