Keep HOPE alive!!!!
Give it up, HOPE is gone.

If (as reported) it is between North and Geelong, it is in our best interest to keep negotiations going well into trade week. Because I reckon that if Gold Coast see the Cats picking up Rivers, McIntosh, Stevens etc. they'll figure (as we all would) that they are still going for flags. Hence the compensation pick loses value.

For this reason if H is indeed being moved (I'm sceptical) I'd hope we address it before the Caddy trade.

If Carlton offer pick 11, would that not trump you all?

We have to find out where he wants to go first. At present Carlton and Saints have better currency than North or Geelong. If he doesn't want to go to Carlton or Saints then it gets more complicated.

If Caddy is happy to go there and Gold Coast want to use the pick this year, sure.

I'm pretty sure the Blues have already made 11 available to the GC anyway.

You guys need to ask the right questions.

If Caddy chose a club with pick 12, would the Gold Coast toss him in to the PSD and get nothing because he wouldn't do a deal to be traded to another club for pick 9?

14 in the hand (in a strong draft) is worth more than your compo pick in the bush.

If he nominates North and Geelong, the Cats are cooked.

There are a lot of people that think the opposite that the Compo pick is more valuable to the GC. They already have to cull 7 or 8 players just to meet the minimum draft picks plus upgrade Jaeger O'meara to their list.

Who knows Tippett and Crows could be involved in a 3 way trade

On the Carlton side of the Ledger, now that Tippett has gone rogue wouldn't he scream out as being someone the Blues would chase ahead of another midfielder?

a) He likes money
b) He has requested to be traded
c) He likes money
d) Gold Coast is playing poor
e) He likes money
f) Carlton are dodgy as hell with the bookkeeping
g) He likes money
h) Carlton's KPF stock is pretty dodgy
i) He likes money

The planets could align here...

Yeh, nah...

GC have a massive list squeeze issue and would much prefer to bank a pick (of basically the same value to North's pick) and keep a young gun for an extra year than pick 14 now.

I agree with your analysis of GC preference, but this isn't going to sway Caddys choice nor is it going to be a deal buster.

The GC also need to take in to account that Caddy has been transparent with them from a long way out and this has also helped them startegise their 2012 trade tactics. In fact, his early transparency could be more tactically beneficial to GC than the Geelong concession pick.

GC have more than enough spuds who have played <10 games in 2 years that they can get rid of.

Not replacing Caddy for 1 or 2 years would have a negative effect on their midfield and possibly induce others to leave. They can't afford to be developing 18 year olds forever.

j) He's not quite a ruckman, not quite a full-time forward and they've only got 3 of them at the moment.

hopefully not Melbourne

this guy is a rubbish footballer with no strengths, has literally played 0 good games
