Do Richmond supporters on bigfooty try to overcompensate for the fact they have no natural arch rivals? They are the VFL era big 4s afterthought. Is it why when the VFL Big 4 is mentioned, 87.6% of the time its by a Richmond supporter?
Food for thought.

Yeah they do and are now trying to create a rivalry with us lol.
We embarrassed them for 30 years. We never knew just how much they hated us until 2017 maybe longer.
Most of our fans were quite happy to see them doing well as we felt sorry for them for a long time. They had been through a rough time and we could relate with our own drought.
However they seem to have taken a lot of their frustrations out at us.
It’s cute.

Melbourne fans although not quite as bad seem to be having a similar distaste for us.
Two teams we just never ever lost to have got some big wins over us lately and letting us know all about it.

I like Melbourne they can keep winning flags and alls well happy for them same as was i when the Dogs won in 2016 too.
You say that now but just wait until Dees win multiple flags. Regardless of their fans, I don't think Collingwood will be disliked for some time. Surprised they even have 53 votes.

There is no rivalry, ultimately. Richmond pump Geelong in finals and win flags, Geelong usually beat us in meaningless home and away games, only to naturally go on to be pumped in finals to us or others.

I couldnt hate Geelong - its a free pass in finals!

I dont think there’s a rivalry on our end.
Geelong dominated us so decades before they became our finals bunnies since 2017. I expect us to lose to them at Kardinia and then beat them in finals. It’s pretty much how it goes in recent times.

There has been a bit of angst from some supporters when Geelong home games against us at the G come up and us blocking their path to another flag three times in five years would be upsetting. But I think Cats supporters have more of a dislike for Hawthorn, than anything else.

I am looking forward to resuming our rivalry with Carlton. It’s been redundant for the last four decades but will hopefully resume soon.

These polls always used to have a clear top three in no particular order..... Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon.

Nowadays it appears as though it's changed... with a clear top three, of.... Carlton, Essendon and Geelong.

Question, what has happened to Collingwood for them to lose relevance? Can't say it's to do with poor onfield performances..... because if that were the case.... Carlton and Essendon wouldn't remain two of the clearly most hated clubs today!!
probably because we are extremely helpful and courteous to our opposition in Grand finals.

Hawthorn - If Tony Abbot was a football club, he’d be Hawthorn. They get a free ride from the media, AFL House and yes, the umpires, and I will never understand why. Their captain during their golden age was a drunk driver who attempted to paralyse another player by way of a goalpost – and from the past 20 years Rioli, Roughead and Crawford are the only remotely likeable players I can remember.

North - Once upon a time I thought North Melbourne was the paragon of the little guy standing up against the big end of town – then I joined this site and ‘met’ their supporters. I have never come across a more bitter, self-loathing group of w***ers (and I've watched Sky After Dark). I’d never advocate for a club to fold or merge but fu** me, this club brings me close.

Collingwood - apparently we're rivals but have always had a softish spot. Another huge club always in the crosshairs. The Do Better report speaks volumes, but the idea that they rather than Hawthorn or West Coast copped it is laughable – like Essendon with PEDs or Carlton with the brown paper bags, Collingwood were caught without a chair when the music stopped despite far worse going on elsewhere.

Carlton - I honestly can’t wait until we and Carlton hate each other properly again. It’s a vicious, near violent rivalry and will be great when we’re both up and about again.

Richmond - Jesus Christ, who would have thought Richmond would become the benchmark for a quality football club. Honestly, nothing but kudos – and in fact, love the way their fanbase has carried on during the successful years – earned and deserved

Oops... the poll kind of backfired.

Hate the AFL franchise clubs

Collingwood
Sydney
GC
GWS
Melbourne

Melbourne are not a franchise club - we created the sport, if anything the AFL and all its clubs are a franchise of the Melbourne Football Club.

Non entity.....Lol more members and fans than your mob............Will still have more members this year even after wa triumph

Are they still counting those $1 memberships? Or do they just give them out free to Auskickers these days?

Do the Dees count the free memberships they give away?

Well if I'm reading this thread right we made far more money ($4.7m) from 2700 fewer members than the Saints did so I doubt we give out memberships for free or if we do the number is negligible at best

I was a proud Dees member this year as were quite a few I know. Didn't pay a cent.

I never had many bad words to say about the Bombers until they and their over rated Coach lost the unloseable 1990 Grand Final. *

It broke with tradition and for the first time I had to pay out many bottles of Scotch, Irish and Bourbon to mates who barracked for the Pies. (of course I was still way ahead on previous bets against the Pies in GFs)

* Their fans are different. I was at Windy Hill the day Rotten Ronnie Andrews was knocked out (after several filth acts) by Stewie Gull. The weeping, howls of outrage and carry on from Bomber fans in the Outer was truly something to behold as the bully with a glass jaw finally got his just desserts and was carried off on a stretcher.

My hatred for the Western Bulldogs commenced shortly after the 2016 Preliminary Final. It wasn’t because they beat us, Richmond has thrashed us in a Grand Final and in prelims and we’ve also lost important games to Geelong.

It was the behaviour of their fans, the guys that came to our stadium and booed our players before the start and carried on like pork chops after the game, being aggressive, swearing and showing absolutely no class.

In contrast where we lost to Richmond and were even more outnumbered their fans were classy and still made you feel it was just a game of footy and not a street slum war.

I unfortunately had to get the train home where we were horribly outnumbered and never had that feeling before. It left the same impression with family and friends.

I’ve hated them with a passion ever since and enjoy their losses as much as our wins, the Grand Final this year was truly magnificent.

We thank you for your patronage. Doesn't discount the fact we made close to $5m extra dollars in revenue compared to the Saints with a lower membership figure and plenty of those members paying a nominal $80 or so fee to be included as MFC members on top of their MCC memberships

Cool. Irrelevant to what I replied to but 🤷‍♂️

Btw that column says gate. So does that include $$ received from non-members buying tickets?
