That’s far more likely to be a reflection of North as a club and their culture than on individual talent.

Thomas a very obvious concern though.
Yeah, very true

Probably only Davies - Uniacke can put his hand up and say they have improve on last year.

Carltons team if everyone is fit. Includes pretty much our best forward line and all our talls. Midfield still decent but minus Cripps and Hewett. Lacking in small / medium defenders which could be an issue in a few years.

Aside from Carlton I reckon Freo and Sydney could put together some pretty good teams. Freo midfield would be epic though they would be light on talls.

Agree. Nothing is ever a good or bad as it seems in this game. Get a decent coach, build a good system and add a couple of decent experienced players and most of those talented youngsters will be back on track.

Sydney's youth is hugely underrated - Warner, McInerney, Blakey, McDonald, Gulden, Rowbottom, Stephens, Campbell is a really solid base of variously skilled players to build on for their next tilt. Not bad development work from a club who rarely misses finals.
I agree. I like ours and their lists for next four to five years of contention.

North look in similar situation to it felt for us about four years ago.
Drafted an array of youngsters but they still long way off as a group to really impact matches to any great extent.
If you have a good coach it helps reduce the growth pains but you just got to remain patient and hope the coaching staff and admin do not **** up what you building. In our case we only just escaped that at end of last year when all coaching staff and CEO were changed and a good coaching appointment was made. We still went through two coaches in the painful growth period and I cannot see North keeping the present one for much longer.

I didn’t know silvagni was so young, he’s making good progress already a handy player.

Perryman as well, Gws list is quite impressive and bulldogs ruck midfield and forwards are A grade youth.

Ours makes up the bulk of the team that has us sitting top 4.

Only really been 7 over 25's most of the year - Mundy, Walters, Lobb, Pearce, Ryan, Acres and Aish. Fyfe added just recently. Occasionally Taberner when he feels like not being injured for a game or two.

B: Chapman- Cox - Young
HB: Walker - Logue - Clark
C: Henry - Serong - O'Driscoll
HF: Erasmus - Treacy - Frederick
F: Schultz - Amiss - Switkowski
R: Darcy - Brayshaw - Brodie
I/C: Meek - Sturt - Johnson - Banfield

14 of them are probably best 22 now - including five of the six across midfield and five of the back six. It's the tall forwards who are untested (although Treacy and Amiss were able to dominate North in R8).

Really only Banfield and Sturt who shouldn't be regularly pulling on the purple jumper for the next 7-8 years (and Meek - but only because he's too good to play second fiddle ruck for his career).

Add Jackson to that 22 as Ruck/Forward to replace Lobb (who most likely heads east) then probably our best chance in our history to get a flag.

How is Henry Smith going?
Looked absolutely enormous when watching him against Suns VFL at Yeronga last year.
Took a couple of nice marks and seems to be a decent shot for goal.

He's developing nicely, as with the vast majority of young rucks he will need a few years to work on his endurance and skills in the reserves. I went to a fair few pre season training sessions and he is a long way off fitness wise, needs to work on his agility as well.

He is looking handy in the reserves though, looks good as a ruck who can float forward and take a decent mark as you said, if he wants it enough he will succeed IMO, he is a good raw product.
