If Hardwick was sacked at the end of 2016, there's every chance the next coach would have been able to get Richmond to finish above us on the ladder and actually earn the right to host us at the MCG in the qualifying final.
Richmond only finished above us on the ladder three times during the Hardwick era.
Thanks for validating my point.

Who the hell voted for Fagan. Show your face!

I’m more bemused that there is somebody out there who hates Dean Cox the most of all the coaches.

Hasn’t coached a game yet, and has given, what, one press conference?

Sam Mitchell

His press conference after last year's finals loss was an embarrassment.

This is now the correct answer. Mitchell didn't even figure on my radar good or bad until his antics in the finals last year. Truly pathetic and embarassing.

It was really just the Sydney game where the umps absolutely gifted them the win that he blew up. He actually went up in my eyes when he did that, as he showed he won’t stand for blatant cheating

The McStay non-free call?

Those calls probably get made 7 times out of 10.

But those calls will absolutely get made 10 times out of 10 when the player with the ball points out the transgression and appeals to the umpire. Which McStay failed to do.

Of course you could argue that players shouldn’t have to do that - but it’s an imperfect game and the umpires have got a tonne of things to keep track of in a very stressful environment.

There was clearly a lesson for McStay to learn there, and he learnt it. The following week in the Brisbane game he was in a similar situation and he appealed to the umpire.

That’s the silver lining of that incident - it showed that the “getting better every day” thing at Collingwood is real.

Ross Lyon has a genuine personality disorder and required an out of court settlement for being a sex pest. the fact he's won shit compounds that.

But Goodwin is a real rat, the guy's been done for betting on his own games and went to rehab for drugs and alcohol and no one ever mentions his involvement in the Essendon issue, where just about everyone else was driven out the game or heavily stigmatised afterward. now he's a 50 year old man going to pubs designed for coked up 20 year olds and fostering some festering grot culture at Melbourne.

Then Justin Longmuir is just a gormless pussy.

Tough call.

You mean the coach responding to a question about the pathetic and embarrassing actions of the coach who actually WON the game?

The one who made it all about himself, and didn't have enough class to revel in his own finals victory, subsequently ensuring a 300 game legend of the opposition wasn't able to enjoy a major individual achievement??

Yep.

Winners are grinners.

Mitchell’s behaviour turned a non-event into an event.

No, winners should be gracious and respectful to their direct opposition.

Ken was neither of those things, and looked like an immature idiot in the process.

And nobody come at with me the 'well the Hawks goal celebrations means they deserved it'. None of the 'hokball' or over the top goal cellies directly disrespected the opposition. The closest was Ginnivan against Collingwood, but that was his former side, so context matters.

I guess it was Mitchell that copped the please explain and the fine from the AFL for conduct unbecoming after he goaded an opposition player after the siren.

He should have chucked on a wizards hat and took selfies with the crowd

Smug. Few cracks in his carefully curated personality opened up when things didn’t go his way last year imo.
You don’t watch enough of him clearly. The most open and honest coach there is right now and many have said it’s refreshing.
What you see is what you get… no mask as opposition fans like to claim.

When there is nothing to dislike, you often go looking for something. It must drive non Pies fans mad.
