Interesting how the profile/current success of the club coached matters with things like this.

I mean Clarko is an a grade ********.

Dirtiest of players.
Punches holes in walls.
Homophobe.
Tries to coerce player's partner to get an abortion.
Abuses umpires at junior games.
All round small man syndrome.

But he coaches North so nobody cares.

Nothing against his coaching, just his personality and the way he portrays himself in the media.
Not a likeable personality but certainly not a dislikeable one either.

I didn't need you to change it. I just wasn't sure if there was a bit of an infatuation with him, which I'd have to question for myself if I started decorating my profile with Bevo stuff for instance.

But the only rule against it is the very arbitrary catch-all of “bringing the game into disrepute” used to keep the broadcaster happy. Hence the fine gentle slap on the wrist with a wet lettuce leaf

=2nd most games coached, with the worst record, at a whopping 35.38% win rate. Most of those over North & West Coast btw.

Only reason he doesn't get votes here, is because he's helped the Crows become totally irrelevant.

Really? I'd say the complete opposite for McRae. I don't dislike him at all but recall things like saying how he was disappointed at his players collapsing to the ground after losing the epic 2022 QF ("acting like losers") and then Ginnivan and Adams coming out to say how coldly their departures were held. Say what you want about Chris Scott, but there's been countless delicate departures for him to navigate over almost 15 years and I can't recall him ever being criticised by a former player.

Hard to argue with what McRae's achieved, considering the expectations at the start of 2022 when he inherited the team, but he strikes me as the sort of coach who'll wear out his welcome quickly as the losses start to pile up.

But Goodwin is a real rat, the guy's been done for betting on his own games and went to rehab for drugs and alcohol and no one ever mentions his involvement in the Essendon issue, where just about everyone else was driven out the game or heavily stigmatised afterward. now he's a 50 year old man going to pubs designed for coked up 20 year olds and fostering some festering grot culture at Melbourne.

Goodwin for mine as you've described. "Good stuff" Goodwin and his drug use and yet he's completely untouchable.

Chris Scott I detest but respect the fact he's clearly one of the best coaches going around.

I don't dislike Fly, but he is great when things are going well for the Pies. Sore loser when they don't. The extent of his umpire whining last season was unbecoming. One week he is torching the umpires calling them a circus when calls don't go the Pies way, the very next week the Pies are on the other end and won a game off umpiring calls and he is all chummy. That isn't being open and honest.

He is the first to admit when his club has an unfair advantage, please. Rarely loses his cool and when he did after that umpiring performance it was pretty justified. Always gives credit to the winning team/coach in his presser after a loss. He’s never claimed to be perfect and at least holds himself accountable (example after the Sydney presser) and still gets torched by oppo fans when he slips up like any normal person would.
Plus there was no issues with umpiring in the week following so why would it need to be mentioned? Goes to show how bad it was. Pies were the deserving winners over Brisbane.

It’s fine to admit your judgment of him is skewed as you don’t watch enough of him because he isn’t your coach.

It’s jealousy, let’s be honest. When you’re a successful side opposition fans will find any excuse to come after your club/coach. C.Scott wouldn’t cop this much if he wasn’t a genius coach.

There is an end to it and the cycle can be broken through personal growth and spiritual practices as it’s an ancient Indian thing. In this particular case it could be this year when Kenny does his little airplane impersonation when flying out the doors of Alberton oval …… I can’t see Port winning it!
