Far more interesting (imo) than cricket.

Don't get me started...

You get flogs saying "Baseball is boring", yet will sit in the sun for 5 days to watch a draw.

Why do you think they invented Twenty20? Obviously someone watched a Home Run Derby and thought "That looks like a good idea!"

I used to play cricket and baseball and i can say from experience that they both offer different challenges etc etc, but really, baseball is far more entertaining and enjoyable game. Sure, it's all about preferences for everyone individually. But as a game, Baseball is better for a lot of reasons that I wont go into right now....unless someone wants to debate me and push for the reasons. Then I'll devote some time to writing up a post to debate the points "why".

Was originally a Indians fan except i loved Bernie Williams, so i sent a card of his off to the Yankees and i got it sent back signed with a junior fan club membership and have been a big fan of the Yanks ever since.

Boston Red Sox.

I'm heading to the US next year, and my visit to Boston just happens to coincide with the season opener against the Tampa Bay Rays - and I have tickets!!

Baltimore Orioles

Got to love Cal Ripken Jnr - 2,632 games straight

Tough gig the AL East so could be a long wait for the glory years to return

Never mind, he's now a free agent...

I went to Pittsburgh when I was little and have family friends living there, so I follow all the teams - Steelers, Penguins, Pirates. (and I probably follow them in that order)

Up until recently I didn't really have a favorite team, I just followed the teams of players I liked or the underdogs.

For some reason I always hated the Yankees. Not sure why, most likely I just found them to be a love em or hate em team just like Collingwood.
Then the 2004 ALCS happened and I couldn't help but fall in love with the Red Sox.
Any team that could do that to the Yankees is alright in my books.

What's great is ONE's coverage of the MLB. Good times indeed. This is what free to air TV so badly needed. A single sports channel showing all the elite sports around the world.

Especially with a HD TV in our lunch room at work :). MLB all day. "I'm just going to get a glass of water boss!"

I follow the Cubs, but havent followed for long enough to feel the pain of not succeeding. Reason is I went to Chicago and saw the passion first hand - which seems to be a common theme of why people support a certain team.
