He is just sore realising they have had 3 top 10 picks over the last 3 drafts and none of them are looking anything more than good, honest players at best.
Clueless as ever, Vin.

You Hawthorn fans love changing the goal posts to suit yourselves. Last season you were going to 24 to include Jiath, Scrimshaw and Lewis.
Now that that's not working, bringing it back to 22. Out of interest, who are these 22 and under huge talents the Hawks have that are regular contributors in one of the easiest teams to get a game at?
Out of interest please name the Pies or any other clubs best 22 that are under 22yo?

Crows still being lead by the older heads in the middle.

Rankine and Rachele the only 22 and under players doing anything of note, the rest are in peripheral roles.
Dawson and Keays being viewed as older players probably shows how further advanced the Crows are. They’re both 26, for us, they’re in the right age bracket to be core players of our next premiership push.

I get they don’t fit the “youth” category, but it’s not like we’re being carried by old players hanging on by a thread.

Will be interesting to see out of the 3 clubs who first wins a premiership …….. surely that will end this thread!
I think Hawthorn and Adelaide are pretty comparable, we just started our rebuild two years earlier. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Hawks pushing into the 8 in 2025.

North however as a club are ****ed, they have talent, but they aren’t going anywhere until they get their footy department and culture sorted.

I just posted the top-10 Crows 22 & under who played today.

Feel free to compare the top-10 Hawks from your selected side.

It appears Strapping Young Lad has gone shy all of a sudden.

I'm still waiting for the Hawks to name theirs as this thread is about Adelaide, North and Hawthron. All we have heard from Hawk fans is how much better their youth is than Adelaide's.

So, name them so we can compare.

Can you read!
Can you?

Funny how none or you Hawks want to post a top-10... yet bang on about how awesome you side is...

Why shy all of the sudden.

So is your middle name Putin!
It's the Hawks mantra to personally abuse when losing a discussion.

All bluster.

Apparently the Crows only have Rachele & Rankine as quality talent 22 & under.

My current top-10 ranking of Crows young talent who have played today 22 & under years of age.

1 Thilthorpe forward/ruck (20)
2 Rachele midfielder/forward(20)
3 Rankine forward (22)
4 Pedlar midfielder/forward (20)
5 Soligo midfielder (20)
6 Michaelanny defender (19)
7 Worrell defender (22)
8 Murray defender (22)
9 Butts defender (22)
10 McHenry midfielder (21)

Excluding Fogarty & Jones who are 23

Feel free to compare to the Roos team we played today or current Hawks side & think our top end young talent stacks up very well.

Edit - challenge Strapping Young Lad to put up his current top 10 from the Hawks line up & have independent team posters compare.
Here we go matey - challenge to name your Hawks current top-10.

Surely it's easy given how awesome your team is.

Nice cop out!
No. It makes no sense. We are a top 2 team.
You are a bottom 3 team. You need to focus on youth to give your supporters something to cling to because there is nothing else.
Day is probably the only player under 22 that could get a game at the Pies.

We have players in our VFL team that will be walk-up starts in your seniors.

Yet this exactly what you are doing in a thread about the Crows, Hawks & Roos.

It's not a Pies thread.
I think they are just too busy preparing their Fergus Greene banner.
Remember him? Apparently 'Gunston-like'. Clubs are lining up for him.

We actually have a Gunston like player with Gollant, but he can't make the side as our forward line is playing well. Has only played a few games this year when we have had injuries. He would walk into the Hawks side.

Another week where I'm left wondering what is the point of North. Just in general.

Hawks at least have the decency of showing some sort of pulse to make this thread not just an Adelaide curb stomp when it comes to how to conduct a rebuild. It's getting pretty close though.
Not sure if you're joking, but North are far ahead and it's not close.

I think it’s cute how much time you spend in here trying to get one up on the Hawks posters, while claiming to be a neutral poster. 😂

I'll give it a shot. Some of those players are 22 at the start of the season who have turned 23 so I'll include the same for the Hawks. All players have featured in the side with the exception of Ward through injury and DGB through fitness.

In no particular order.

1. Day Mid/Def (22)
2. Newcombe Mid (21)
3. DGB Def/FWD? (21)
4. Ward Mid (19)
5. Macdonald Mid/Fwd (20)
6. Mitchell Def (20)
7. Brockman Fwd (20)
8. Weddle Def/Mid (19)
9. McKenzie Mid (19)
10. Butler Fwd (20)

If we weren't counting DGB I'd add in Blanck as a Key Defender who is 22 turning 23.

Obviously a much younger group of players under 22 at the Hawks so hopefully we will start to kick off and get some natural improvement through the listed players in the next 12-24 months, similar to the bump the Crows have experienced.

Gulf of difference is in the top end midfield quality. Hawthorn with Newcombe and Day having a more significant output at the moment compared to the Crows. Crows with the obvious gulf in quality in the forward line with Rankine, Rachele and Thilthorpe all playing really well. I like Brockman and I think he's a massive talent but Rankine is a step up above at the moment who is possibly an AA squad calibre player already, if not knocking on the door to the first team. Macdonald would be behind Rachele in the HFF role.

Crows have us beat in key defensive posts currently (whether DGB comes along as expected will determine this at the end of the day) but I think we have reason to be excited about our half back line with Seamus Mitchell and Weddle adding alot of dash and flair. I rate Michealanny but I think I'd take Weddle's upside over him at the moment. Splitting hairs there.

Hawks have a nice consolidated group of 23-25 year olds at the moment that I think would match the Crows or on our day beat it. They have the much better 26 yr old and beyond though.

The only similarities between Greene and Gunston is they play the same role as a third tall and they've both been equally ineffective this year. Also both were unceremoniously dumped back to the magoos.

Actually I'd argue Fergus has had the better of Gunston this year. Poor bloke is cooked.
