I think he’s saying Sloane is a inside mid and only an inside mid and being sent there is like a “default setting”

And if you get sent there with the only other 4 people that do… ROB, Laird and Keays/Crouch… someone has to be 4th best.

That’s my take on this deep insightful piece of analysis
Basically this, if he could have read the rest of the post it had context but he ignored that because he was confused by the first line.

Not quoting a whole post is considered poor form generally it was not especially long but it removed the example that was provided intentionally so he could act the fool.

WTF?

You can rely on somebody who is underperforming in their role.

There are probably multiple players at almost every club who would be considered as 'relied upon' and 'underperforming' at any given time:
true but in many of Sloane's full games this year, is spent large chunks of the game being a liability and we would have been better off with the next guy in line.

That is not how you would describe a player you are reliant on.

4 Crows nominated for the 22 under 22.
3 Hawks.
1 North.

It should have been 5 crows.

If a player is in terrible form is still given time ahead of x that just means the players behind are worse. It's not a hard concept.
Not a hard concept. You can’t go to the well if the well is dry…

Poor form. Age. Slow…over reliance… whatever… despite that… of course you are better than no one… that’s correct.

I think as this season goes on, I feel like Hawthorn seem the best club out of this trio out of developing their youth/kids then the Crows and North, which is partly why I think they are more likely to be in flag contention again sooner than Adelaide or North.

Macdonald unlucky.
Ward lucky.
Weddle the most unlucky defender.
Statistically the best of the unlucky few.
Weddle is very unlucky.

Hard to split Ward and Macdonald, imo.

Macdonald started well but has petered out imo, especially in regard to his second, third efforts (and defensive accountability) on game day. Ward has steadily been working and improving on his weaknesses as the year’s gone on (and that’s coming from a person who sees Ward as very vanilla). Ward will end up overtaking Macdonald next year; natural composure and hard work (on the track and on game day) are definitely Ward’s outright fortes. That’s why I describe him as a more talented version of Harry Morrison (not as an insult, peak Scully is a great example of what I mean, what should be hoped for). Macdonald needs to lift if he wants to be more than a Clinton Young type (talented but can’t dig deep, stay composed, too much of a ‘confidence player’ - you don’t want a player whose ceiling is being borderline best on ground in a grand final - 2008 - to then being easily forgotten and moved on - Collingwood - to then being bronx cheered by his new team after missing a sitter of a mark… that type, all the talent in the world unrealised). I like that Macdonald loves playing football (reminiscent of Isaac Smith, always seems to be smiling); just needs to learn to dig deeper.

Rachele another crow young player being dropped in favour of Sloane.

Not surprising as Nicks had told him he would be dropped pre suspension.

May come in as sub… but after 2 weeks off you’d think he’s again one of the young ones sacrificed for that all or nothing finals push.

Pedlar came in for Rachele up forward.

Sloane came in for Jones on a wing.

But don't let the truth get in the way of another Hawks misinformation.

Connor Macdonald has been more impressive than Josh Ward this season in my opinion.
It's not like it will matter anyway. These fan voted teams are the pits.

Was Rachele dropped?

Could you give us insight on this? As I assume he’s “fresh”.
Nicks was quite clear in saying “he’s running on top of the ground” a week ago.

Is it disappointing that the only young player allowed to attend centre bounce on occasion aside from the standard senior group has been dropped?

Rachele will be the sub & made way for Pedlar up forward.

It's really not hard to understand if you actually follow the Crows.

.... but hey stick with your story that Sloane is replacing Rachele up forward... ignoring Jones is an out because of injury.

Hard to disagree really.

Noone said Sloane was replacing Rachele.

I did say that Sloane is keeping Rachele out. As he did Soligo.

Rachele made the occasional venture into the midfield. Clearly not needed.

Rachele & Pedlar spent the first 17 rounds or so playing together… alongside Rankine who is still out.

With Jones and Rankine out it makes it even more perplexing that the only “up and coming” forward/mid is again dropped.
