R
I'd say it's pretty realistic in its depiction.

You do wonder if such violence could all really happen in such a short space of time. It is a tv show so probably a bit of license is taken.

The Frontier Wars in Gippsland and Western Victoria were violent and I could only think watching this show what it might have been like in 1840-50’s Victoria.

Finished American Primeval

It really finds its heart in episode 3 and becomes outstanding.

Highly recommend it

If half way through Ep 5. I just needed to stop and have a break

I saw before that it’s from the same writer as the Revenant which explains a lot

Without watching or listening to any of them (or any desire to do so), I would simply say they are genuine duds.

Just like their audience.
I'd watch if Kyle ****ing Sandilands wasn't on there

Saura Lightfoot-Leon is in both the 2 shows I am watching now. Without googling, what are these 2 shows?
Well I know she’s in American Primeval because I just watched it.

I’ll guess the other one and say Industry?

She was in Three Women last year and played a wife in a loveless marriage who idolises her teenage love interest into her adult years

A brilliant actor and another emotionally messed up
role/show

She was fantastic and the show despite its soapy vibes was dead set pointed in places and a great watch

The reason watching music on YouTube exists is so we don’t need to watch “talent shows”.

I noticed the same thing - I'd never heard of her before two months ago. I'm assuming that American Primeval was shot prior to The Agency given her haircut?
In the first episode I just thought she looked kind of familiar, but the second episode I was sure she was from the Agency and I googled it.

Very talented.

Dexter: New Blood 1 season

I'm not sure this works as much as I thought it could - and thats more likely on me

Well crafted, well acted and well delivered it just missed what I felt Dexter was about - maybe it was the cold conditions - maybe I got tired of all the close misses and the escalation - actually an afterthought - I reckon it was that the dialogue was spotted before it came out of the characters mouths.

Maybe it was the introduction of one of the main characters.

I'm glad I watched it though - part as a completist and part for the comfort of old characters.

And of course the ending

Watched a couple of episodes of this yesterday. Yeah, I like it. Can understand why Taylor Kitsch said "I need to do a f****** rom-com now".

Finished Station 11 yesterday and much to my surprise I ended up really enjoying it. It will stick with me for a few days yet.
It's not flawless but it swings for the boundary and delivers something a little bit different.

I had my reservations about the pretentious and annoying theatre troup, but I see now that was an intentional decision and the show is definitely more self aware than I realised.
It's good to be challenged and proven wrong sometimes.

I love that show. It has it's own feel to it.

The show has stuck with me ever since I saw it when released a couple of years ago.

Follows a pair of police officers on patrol as they respond to a new radio call, arriving on the scene to resolve incidents.

On Call is a police procedural that follows the police force in Long Beach, California and what they have to deal with in protecting and serving the community. The character development is fast tracked and focuses primarily on the training officer and the rookie, both of whom have a lot of baggage.

Its a short season of just 8 episodes long and about 25mins in length. You definitely could binge watch this in one sitting. The opening scene and the fallout from it, lays the foundation for the entire season.

I like those sort of shows. There have been some good British ones too. Which channel?

Finished American Primeval and absolutely loved it all. It will definitely be in my Top 5 come end of year

I reckon there is a beat down on the Mormons every year recently ..thoughts on this?
Yeah I thought it was great - my sort of show and I was restricting myself to only one episode a day to draw out the experience for as long as I could.

But I had a few issues with the last episode.

1. I fail to see why the Mormon militia kept Jacob alive for so long? Was it solely to identify Abish when they tracked her down, as they didn't know what she looked like? I would've thought the little job he did on Cook at the creek would've got him greenlit pretty quickly too.
2. Abish got caught up in the Shoshone lifestyle way too readily and quickly for my liking. She was from a very conservative religious background, and even the PTSD from the throat-cutting incident at the wagons alone should've mitigated any attraction to the Indian tribe. It was like Stockholm Syndrome on speed.
3. No way that Devin's compound fracture would've been healed enough in just a couple of days for him to fight off the wolves. Speaking of which, the horses outside the hut were completely untouched by the wolves, despite still being tethered.
4. The schmaltzy love affair that popped up in the final scenes between Sara and Isaac were unnecessary and out of kilter with the rest of the story.
5. The fact that all of the drunken revellers in the bar at Fort Bridger decided that being cremated whilst partying was preferable to taking on the marauding arsonists was ridiculous. The day before they were all armed to the teeth and ready to go to war with the Mormons.
6. The Mormon militia went to outrageous lengths to try to cover up the massacre of the 200 settlers at the Mountain Meadows Massacre, yet simply rolled up on the army camp and murdered them all in broad daylight without even trying to cover their tracks, or at least implicate the local Indians.

All valid points

Please delete in case future Producers read it and decide not to make any more Westerns

American Primeval was outstanding. No plotline was boring, every character I was invested in. Revenant meets Deadwood??

The Mormons are easy targets I agree, at least here they sure gave as good as they got!

Yeah I pretty much I agree with all this too.

Recently swapped back to Apple TV+ in time for Severance season 2

Sunny - an American women living in Japan deals with the loss of her husband and son, and is gifted a home robot by the company her husband works for. Mystery. Solid but perhaps didn’t stick the landing. 6/10

Sugar- modern day noir mystery with Colin Farrell. He’s doing some good work lately. I really enjoyed it even with some interesting plot developments that I did not see coming mid season. I’m on board for season 2. 8/10.

American Primeval

I wanted to watch this for the reviews but also an insight into what it must have been like - or an approximation - of a splinter family group who emigrated from England at this time and settled in Utah

Henry, Ann, Mary Ann, Elijah, Henry, John and Ellen Clifford;

Up to episode 2
