TP has a reasonable list but there would be several other players that could go at 12 .. just depend on when Wells drops the hammer ...

Yes, others that will almost certainly be in there. It almost never follows the predicted order does it? My point was that at 12 we should be able to grab a player of quality. Whilst having a couple that I prefer, there are another 3-4 that I will be more than happy to take as well. Will be interesting, as it is every year, to see whom Wells likes and who he bypasses.

I reckon Ryhlee West is a quality player. Make the Dogs use their Picks 27 and 32 if we bid on him at 12. They will match, if they don't then we have a fine player. He has serious hurt factor.

I'm not sure he's in the conversation for the top 15? I don't know much about him, but his TAC numbers aren't great (avg. 19 disposals), and most phantoms have him in the 2nd or 3rd round.

said it before and I'll say it again, we have to get Curtis Taylor. How he isn't in any preferences by people in this board is beyond me! He just makes things happens which is something we lack in our forward line

I’m not sold on him. He only averaged a goal a game in the TAC and doesn’t find a lot of the ball. He seems like another Hayden Crozier or Jed Lamb. Pick 12 is too early.

Too much time on my hands...

Picks & Points.

Take away Father-Sons and Academy Picks.

Just doing some predictions... just my opinions boys so take it easy. LOL.

Here's how it might pan out, give or take a selection or two.

Nick Blakey (Bids 7-10) will cost Sydney Picks 26 & 33 at a minimum.
Rhylee West (Bids 12-15) will cost Footscray Picks 27 & 32 most likely.
Tarryn Thomas (Bids 12-18) will cost NM Picks 42, 47 & 48 most likely.
Bailey Scott (Bids 25-30) will cost NM Picks 49, 55 & 58 at a pinch.
Isaac Quaynor ( Bids 18-25) will cost Collingwood Picks 41 & 44.
Will Kelly (Bids 25-35) will cost Collingwood Picks 51 & 57.
Conner McFadyen (Bids 15-25) will cost Brisbane Picks 30... maybe 56 as well.
Kieren Briggs (Bids 30-35) will cost Pick 52.
Jarrod Cameron (Bids 30-40) will cost the Eagles Pick 61.
Buku Khamis (Bids 35-40) will cost Footscray Pick 45.

So with 10 players taking away between 17-19 picks things look a little different for our picks.
Picks 50 equates to selection 38 or 39.
Picks 59 equates to selections 41 to 44.
Picks 60 equates to selections 42 to 45.

Scenario #1
Picks 12, 38, 41 & 42.

Scenario #2
Picks 12, 39, 44 & 45.

So with Nathan Krueger locked in and Oscar Brownless most likely being pick 38.
We should have Picks 12, 43 & 44 going in to the draft.

Pick 12 can go a dozen different ways from ...
A King boy (Hope NOT), Jackson Hately, Liam Stocker, SAM STURT, RCD or a CHAYCE JONES.

The interesting part for me is what happens at 43 & 44
Some say Bailey Williams will drop(Twomey is an IDIOT)... I doubt it.
Will Ely Smith drop that far??... YeahNah don't think so.

FWIW I do like 2 from SA, Boyd Woodcock from North Adelaide & Liam Fitt from South Adelaide.
Conner Idun from the Falcons or even Stefan Radovanovic from the Jets look like promising young defenders.

Cheers Boys & GO CATTERS!!

Those later picks end up looking significantly better once the father/son/academy picks are removed.

That is a great summary and hopefully shows that we will get much better selections than we have at face value. I don't think we will have to use 38 on Brownless though because I don't think a bid comes early enough. If that's right then hopefully we keep 38 and might not even have to use a pick on him as we could potentially rookie him.

You made the same mistake that I did when I first did this exercise haha. In that the father-son and academy picks actually push out the early picks and then they come back in again. Basically, it doesn't actually change it as much as you think it will, because you have to consider that once the pick is matched, the team whose pick it originally was then moves down the order.

Here's the one I made (with the last 4 players exempted because it's only 1 pick and doesn't change the order)

FIRST ROUND

Pick 1: Carlton

Pick 2: Gold Coast

Pick 3: Gold Coast (received as compensation for Tom Lynch)

Pick 4: St Kilda

Pick 5: Port Adelaide (received off Brisbane)

Pick 6: Gold Coast (received off Melbourne, via on-trades)

Pick 7: Western Bulldogs

Pick 8: Adelaide

Pick 9: Sydney - GWS original (bid on Blakey, matched by Sydney with picks 33, 39 and 40)

Pick 10: GWS

Pick 11: Port Adelaide (received off Fremantle, via on-trades)

Pick 12: GWS

Pick 13: North - original Geelong (bid on Tarryn Thomas IMO this is the latest he'll get taken, could be the Dogs that try for him too. Matched by North with picks 42, 48, 49 and 55)

Pick 14: Geelong

Pick 15: Adelaide

Pick 16: Fremantle

Pick 17: Port Adelaide

Pick 18: Adelaide

Pick 19: Collingwood - original Richmond (bid on Quaynor, have put it with Richmond but could be later. Doesn't matter anyway, as Pies will have to give up all their picks anyway along with future picks to pick both him and Kelly up. Matched by Pies with -insert picks-, 44, 51 and 57)

END OF ROUND ONE

Pick 20: Richmond

SECOND ROUND

Pick 21: Brisbane

Pick 22: GWS

Pick 23: West Coast

Pick 24: Adelaide

Pick 25: West Coast

Pick 26: Bulldogs - Melbourne original (bid on West. Could be earlier, could be later. Matched with 32 and 45)

Pick 27: Melbourne

Pick 28: North - Gold Coast original (bid on Bailey Scott, matched by North with 47, 58 and 59)

Pick 29: Gold Coast

Pick 30: GWS

Pick 31: Sydney

Pick 32: Bulldogs

Pick 33: Melbourne

Pick 34: Gold Coast

Pick 35: Brisbane

Pick 36: Fremantle

THIRD ROUND

Pick 37: Essendon

Pick 38: Brisbane

Pick 39: St Kilda (received off Melbourne, via on-trades)

Pick 40: Richmond

Pick 41: Sydney

Pick 42: Brisbane

Pick 43: Melbourne

Pick 44: Brisbane (received off Collingwood)

FOURTH ROUND

Pick 45: Fremantle

Pick 46: St Kilda

Pick 47: Geelong

Pick 48: GWS

Pick 49: Hawthorn

Pick 50: Melbourne

Pick 51: Brisbane

Pick 52: Geelong

Pick 53: Geelong

Pick 63: Geelong

I think it's the other King that may fall if one will. I doubt it though.

It’s difficult to judge really, the bulldogs are the next team IMO who would take Ben King, it’s all depending if they’re happy with Boyd and Schache.
Can’t see a interstate team taking him if the brother is already in Melbourne.
Maybe he’s the player that slips, maybe the saints try and get another pick inside the 10 and get both

Would be very surprised if we had the opportunity to take him but he’d surely be too good to pass on if we did. Funnier things have happened.

In what way? The vision I've seen of him he looks to have good foot skills and vision. Just thought for a late pick he may be handy.

The vision I have seen he reminds me of a smaller mid who can get in and attack the ball and man... but I have not seen him look good to great by foot.
As you know 2 to 3 minutes of highlights can be quite deceiving so id certainly not put to much strength in my comments

Hately or Collier Dawkins if we go for a mid whoever is available.
Think we need to address our lack of first use if we are going to improve.
We need a bookend for Charlie Constable,
a power mid who can play both inside and outside either would be a boost.
Collier Dawkins has had the big growth spurt will he remain a mid that's the question, think Mitch Brown he was drafted to the Cats on his midfield exploits and was anything but.

Yeah I would be a little worried about his endurance. I could be wrong but I think he tested very poorly for the 2k time trial. Might end up being a bit like stringer in the sense that it would be great to have him as a mid but he just doesn't have the endurance.

Really? I’m surprised Turbo. Vision I’ve seen, which is limited granted, is of a guy with largely very good skills by foot. At that end of the draft anyone will have some deficiencies so it’s a matter of predicting their ceiling I suppose.

He did test poorly and that is the major knock. Is he capable of building a tank sufficient to play AFL? It would be interesting to know what sort of conditioning he’s done over the past couple of years.

Have a look here TC. I think his foot skills are excellent.
