Who is being touted as early pick #1?

It looks like the hawks and tigers will be battling it out to see who gets the first pick maybe even the first two picks in the national draft...if the tigers lose the next 3 games then we're still in with a major chance of getting the priority!

Bugger off....we want 1 & 2.

With Crawford gone, I challenge anyone to stop us.

im happy to raise you to clowns further...we have 16 duds atleast on our list and im happy to throw them all into the mix! the priority picks belong to Richmond...now **** off!

As a neutral observer I feel compelled to end this argument. I am sorry to say Richmond's mediocrity can not match Hawthorn's abysmal-ity.
Richmond can't win the PP with Richo in the squad. He is likely to tantalize by winning five games of his own boots. (Trade him at season's end, than you'll have a greater chance of winning it next year)
Fortunately Hawthorn hasn't got anyone as competent as Richo. Oh yeah. Hawthorn also have Shwaby.
So I declare Hawthorn the winner of this years PP award.
Well done Hawthorn. You've worked hard to earn the title.
So start planning for your PRIORITY PICKS.
Who's it gana be. this time please don't embarrass yourselves and pass up on another Judd.

Mark Lynch (Northern) looks a lock on number 1 to me. 206cm+, mobile, agile, skilled and pretty mature body. Junior ruckmen of his quality are extremely rare and ruckmen tend to dominate early picks.

No disrespect to you Weaver or Mark Lynch, but having spent some time with him over the last two years he has a long way to go in his development if he is to be considered a first round pick in this years draft, such as working on his overhead marking and his one on one contesting.

Many others ruckmen at his age have more to offer at this stage such as Deluca and Woods, which you have already mentioned.

Adrenaline,

Would have to agree, Lynch is far from a number one pick. Deluca beat him solidly a few weeks back.

Also comparing Lynch to someone like Erickson (drafted to Sydney last year from Sandringham) who is of the same height and build he seems he has a bit of work to do.

Not to say he can't develop but he hasn't looked to me to have the same package as an Erickson in terms of competing at marking contests and I'm not sure his mobility is as exceptional as many have suggested.

I think the difference between Ericksen and Lynch is that Lynch can actually ruck. Ericksen would be beaten in the hitouts by 188-194cm ruckmen more often than not, they would just move him off the ball.

Lynch wins hit outs. At 206cm he is going to win hitouts in the AFL. I suppose he is a bit of a Sandilands in that he is going to handball off more often than not.

I suppose I don't really expect him to dominate games or take heaps of marks yet. I think it will come though. I look at the improvement of Batson and Meeson from last year to this year and think that Lynch would be a similar story, a rapid improver over the next 2 years.

deluca will definately go before lynch. Deluca towled him up when they played on each other and lynch is no good around the ground

best laugh I have had in while seeing Lynch picked to go at number one in the draft

If anything will be silimlar to Ericksen, late project pick.

Not sure where you have seen him play Weaver, but he can get first hands on it, but he taps it straigh to the opposition every time.

Has a LONG way to go. Has improved since the start of the year.

Deluca is a long way in front of him.

deledio is almost a monty for no1. great size, nice mover, awesome skills, and that touch of class that cannot be taught. when he rips it up in the teal cup, hawthorn can invite him down for a bit of training.

Two months since the question was asked.
Has anything changed after the TAC championships?
My early response was Richard Tambling. After the championships he has enhanced his prospects for the no. One Pick.

I HAVE WATCHED RICHARD TAMBLING PLAY SENIOR FOOTY IN DARWIN FOR THE PAST YEAR AND I COULD HAVE TOLD YOU 6 MONTHS AGO HE WOULD BE TOP 3 IN THE NEXT DRAFT.
WHO EVER GETS HIM IS GONNA GET THIER MONEYS WORTH.
HE WILL COME INTO THE AFL IN SIMILAR FASSION TO DANIEL WELLS.

I think Tambling will be lucky to go in the 1st round due to his size.

My Top 10 would look something like this

1 Priority ---> Deledio
2 Priority ---> Griffen
3 Priority ---> Franklin
4 Hawthorn --> Willits
5 Richmond --> Roughhead
6 Western Bulldogs --> Grundy
7 Collingwood --> Wood/Monfries
8 Adelaide --> Meesen
9 Carlton --> DeLuca
10 West Coast --> Monfries/Kirkby/Gibson

I would say that there are a few teams whose ruckman are ageing or aren't really up to scratch who would cash in on the talls this year. The KPPs who stood out would definitely go and even though Franklin didn't do a lot at the U18 carnival but teams would still pick him because they would doubt he showed what he is capable of in an effort to remain in WA.

Passing up on Tambling is like passing on Judd. No club can afford to take that chance. If they do it will be at their peril.

all these priorities is sorta taking the whole point of the draft away. if 3-4 clubs are taking the top 6-8 players in the country after 1 poor season its just embarasingly unfair.

Its a blight on the game that everyone is talking about the priority pick disappearing if we win another game.

Despite all the protestations IMO clubs are tanking to obtain picks.

Tambling hasn't the physical attributes to be a Judd. The best he could hope for would to be a Davey.

I was not referring to Tambling being a Judd type player.

Hey weaver and co can u guys tell me when you think meeson, de luca and wood will all go at in your opinion.

I really believe tigesr will get wooden spoon

Hawks have a easier draw and will beat the tigers and dogs and maybe even the pies. Richmond have alot of higher teams and will get flogged so there percentage will get dropped even lower at the moment its pretty close.

I hope we get Brett Deledio at number 1 and then number 4 get Jarryd Roughhead to play key defensive next year. So what im asking is will we be able to get a good ruckman with our 2nd rounder in your opinion or will clubs like carlton and collingwood get a ruckman with their first pick?
