If we're just going as a negater, clearly Crowley. He is pretty fantastic.

But the best taggers go both ways.

Overall I'd have the top 5 as Carazzo > Crowley > Picken > Jones > Raines (would be Scooter Selwood, but has dropped off from his amazing form early in the year).

4 pages and no mention of Nick Smith.

Carry on.

One of the best small defenders in the comp, but not a tagger.

Carry on.

Carrazzo easily, stops the best, gets much much more of it and hurts the opposition much more than any other tagger around and kicks goals. If you go by impact on the game he's clear ahead of any other tagger though Scott Selwood is very good as well.

Considering Raines tagged Ablett out of a whole 2 games by causing the knee injury.

We have a winner.
Raines is a spud who isn't good enough offensively so he had to resort to tagging.

When was the last time Carrazzo was doing a job (heavy tag) and won and actually got more possessions than the guy he was on. He is a gun ball player no doubt but way over hyped as a tagger
He tagged Black two weeks ago, who got 15 touches compared to Carrazzo's 31. He tagged Boyd in Round 17 and was best on ground. The week before that he kept Swallow to 22 touches while getting 29 himself. He tagged Beams out of the game in Round 15 and also got more touches than him. And he kept Hurn quiet and also had 17 more touches in his first game back from injury. Before his injury he destroyed Pendlebury who he got 14 more touches than, beat Black again and kept Martin to 16 touches while getting 31 himself.

But he's way over hyped.

Picken eats the best players in the AFL alive he has pissed off Gazza a few times.

Speaking of Gazza he hates playing on Scott Selwood he tags him pretty well even though he still gets alot of the ball but its not as effective.

I highly rate Jones as a tagger aswell as Crowley(shitbloke).

Not sure if srs?

Carrazzo easily the best tagger, followed by scott selwood IMO

Picken is the best tagger I've seen in the RW&B. Hard as titanium plated diamond nails, extremely fair albeit all-awhile coping heavy abuse from opposition players, never complains, kicks goals, respects every player he takes on and rarely loses. I don't see enough of the other rated taggers to compare, but I wouldn't swap Picken for anyone. He'd be among the first picked at Doggieland each and every week since debuting.

Scott Selwood is only standout as a tagger if he's on Judd....
It seems like Scott Selwood only tags in the big games now or against the top sides. The coaching staff have given him a much more offensive role but he still tags players like Judd and his brother Joel, who he smashes.
