If we get Brad Scott I am done. Be a very long time till I go to another Collingwood game.

Yeah it would be a step backwards from the bloke they got rid of. I'd find it extremely hard to be excited about a B Scott led team, and certainly wouldn't bother with buying a Legends membership like I always do.

According to Jon Ralph on the Fox pregame we have a shortlist of 10 candidates:

Don Pyke
Adam Kingsley
Craig McRae
Blake Caracella
Adem Yze
Brad Scott
Mark Williams
Justin Leppitsch
Michael Voss

Apparently we've talked to most of these names twice and are also talking people around the candidate. The early front runner is Don Pyke; he’s apparently interviewed well and the people from Sydney they spoke to spoke glowingly about him. Also according to Ralph Voss has faded as a candidate through this process.

Ralph also said Harvey is not currently part of this process and West Coast are keen to get him over as an assistant coach for next year.

Who is number 10?

I'm increasingly confident now our next senior coach wont be B. Scott.

No reason to wait until mid September to make that announcement given he isn't currently working in the capacity of an assistant coach.

My money is on Pyke or Kingsley.
Agree that time frame doesn't match with Scott I think your money is well placed. Maybe Yze or Caracella a chance?

Like most on here I don't profess to have any inside knowledge but I would hope at the very least both have earned an interview as part of due diligence on our clubs part.

Like a lot of people I'd be comfortable with any of Yze, Caracella, Kingsley, McRae or Pyke as our next senior coach.

Lyon, B. Scott, Williams, Voss or Leppitisch aren't of interest to me unless in the position of senior assistant.

I haven't factored in Clarkson being an option.

We got rid of beams, treloar, Stevo and phillips. We will delist Cox, mayne, Thomas and Greenwood has retired.
If we still have salary cap issues after all that, this club needs to be upfront with the members and explain how we do after all that . fmd what are we paying these players? Is c brown on 600k or something

The salary cap is still screwed.. the club extended Sideys contract at the end of last year until end of 2023 with the option of 2024 so they could spread his salary. It is rumoured that other players that were expected to move on or retired may have also signed cobtracts at the end if last year on the quiet

I’m sure GW had hair before he opened up our TTP register. Now he has to clean up the mess he has unearthed.

Hey everyone, I thought that it was time for an updated poll be done for this as the previous one is a bit out dated as there are options there that are clearly not happening such as Bucks or Harvey, Burns has said that we should hire someone that isn't a Collingwood person and I have not heard his name brought up once, at least not seriously.

I have also elected to exclude Alastair Clarkson from the poll as he will not be the person to brake his contract and jump ship a year early, that will be up to the higher ups at Hawthorn, I am sure that if he is released from his contract then he would be our first preference but for now I am not considering that a likely option.

I also have not included Ross Lyon as I do not believe either we or he is interested.

Conversely there are names that are considered serious chances at the job that were not originally included in the poll such as (Scott 🤮, Voss 🤮, Leppitsch 🤮 and McRae).

I would have hoped that we had a chat to Jaymie Graham but perhaps he wishes to stay in WA.

Anyway here is the updated poll.

The poll needs Clarkson. I think he is very much an option.

Unless Hawthorn cut him loose he isn't as he will not be seen as the disloyal party. Also I think that having him in there would not give an accurate picture of how other candidates are rated because if he was available which one of us wouldn't take the best coach in the modern era. Leaving him outside of the poll gives an accurate snapshot of how us as supporters rate the other options that are available.

Appears so.

I'd go with Pike. Has changed swans around this year.

The only proof we have of Pyke is he didn’t do great as a senior coach and seems to be an excellent assistant coach with a narrower focus. The Adelaide players camp still really bothers me. That seemed to tear the place apart. And it was under his watch.

Clarko will coach Carlton I reckon. A few of the rich Blues elite supporters are already crowing about it. It lines up with his timing a lot better. Which sucks given that we had a chance for a brilliant coach and we blew it.

Consider this for a typically cursed “Collingwood Scenario”: we finally attract a fantastic person in GW to the club, someone who has worked so well with Clarko, yet rather than work for us, it works against us. Because GW has a falling out with Clarko. How’s that for rotten luck/bad management?!

Kingsley the best of the rest I reckon.

(Scott fills me with terror. I can’t stand to even glance at his face.)
