Had hoped Tapping might be brought in as well

Fly (I prefer Macca)
ok Pie supporters, let’s give him at least a 2 year grace period - we need to continue this “process” and not rush our list development
Needs at least a 3 year appointment and a mandate that we understand success may be slow and decisions need to be with long term success in mind

Be about 3 Years to be a Finals Contender again

Very happy with Craig McRae.

He's coached his own team to success.

That is, he's had to stand in front of a team and sell a message of hope and belief to win a game and to win a final and to win a grand final.

He's also had to look a player in the eye and tell them why they are not playing on the weekend.

He's also had to tell a player that they won't be part of their squad next season.

As opposed to taking 7 years on the job to learn all of this, Fly has exposed form on all of this (through references would've been sounded out + the results of his coaching) and has come through the process.
Any chance we can be happy with the selection without the need to clip Buckley?

It’s a little tiresome.

I can handle Leppitsch the assistant coach. Very glad it isn't Leppitsch the senior coach or list manager.
It was reported earlier that if Leppa is coming it will be as Senior Assistant with a component of LM. Not sure how that would work. But may be trying to bring in more resources under the soft cap

The long-tenured assistants are all very likely to go (Sanderson and Harvey). The ones we hired recently (Selwood and Skipworth) are likely to stick around

Happy with Selwood and Skipworth staying, with McRae and Leppitsch coming onboard, it makes a good, fresh coaching panel....

Apparently Tapping is coming. Skipworth will likely go back to development?

Surely that can't be true? That would be beyond stupid.

We need a clean out of assistants first and foremost. That is where we failed previously. I hope Craig can handle the intense pressure and scrutiny…and motivate the players to perform to their best. Otherwise we have really cocked up because we already had that in Buckley.
"We have really cocked up"??
