Sam Edmund on SEN saying Leppitsch is definitely coming to Collingwood in a newly defined role.
I wonder if it'll be some sort of hybrid list management / coaching role. His language has made it seem like it was inevitable. Keen to see what it is
Assistant premiership coach?Sam Edmund on SEN saying Leppitsch is definitely coming to Collingwood in a newly defined role.
Listening to the conversation my take was that it will be a higher level role than a line coach. I could be wrong but that's how it came across.
You explore your options?
In the short term it will be GW & Hine looking after this area through the trade and draft period. Sounds like he wants to sort out whatever mess is left from last year and then they'll look at that area of the club in the new year. Obviously you'd imagine that McRae will have some involvement or input here as well.Right, so sounds like he won't be list manager. Is GW going to continue to fill this role, or do we think we are going to hire someone else?

That's the gist I'm getting to. He's a great hire for our backline - great defensive mind.I wonder if it'll be some sort of hybrid list management / coaching role.
He lets slip? McRae has the gigI'm not really sure where to put this but Harvey's insights are what they are. Worth a listen re thoughts on list profile, DeGoey and the future.
Ex-Collingwood caretaker Robert Harvey (1/9/21)
Why he's content with the legacy he has left for the young players at Collingwood, why he wanted the Pies to play with more dare, Jordan De Goey's best position, his coaching future after nine weeks in a senior role, whether he's spoken to Carlton, and more.player.whooshkaa.com
I would say his management is calling clubs as l type this. When a club tells you to explore your options, l think there is only one real outcome......

Don't understand your question bud
Was a joke but not that hard really...
Pretty sure it's already been reported in a few outlets. He lets slip? McRae has the gig
Official club announcement or educated guesses from nosey reporters? . does look like he has the gig though...Pretty sure it's already been reported in a few outlets.
Happy with the McRae/Leppa team. Leppa was my pick for the top job but I’m happy to have him at the club. This could be an interesting period for the club, we’re definitely going in a different direction. Rather than going for the big names and jobs for mates we’re actually building a good football department.
It's been confirmed from several sources that all candidates other than Craig have been told they aren't getting the gig.Official club announcement or educated guesses from nosey reporters? . does look like he has the gig though...
Wasn't the club announcing McRae as coach at 12pm today? The YT link Jen posted yesterday indicated so.
I'm also happy Leppa is apparently coming aboard but I've seen a bit of this and it does make me wonder what the difference is between Buckley hiring a good friend, former teammate and former senior coach of another club as assistant (Boo! Jobs for mates!) and McRae hiring a good friend, former teammate and former senior coach of another club as assistant (Yay! Fresh blood! New thinking!).
