Right, so sounds like he won't be list manager. Is GW going to continue to fill this role, or do we think we are going to hire someone else?
In the short term it will be GW & Hine looking after this area through the trade and draft period. Sounds like he wants to sort out whatever mess is left from last year and then they'll look at that area of the club in the new year. Obviously you'd imagine that McRae will have some involvement or input here as well.

Wrighty and Hine to get us through the trade and draft periods, then appoint a new list manager next year.....
Sounds like Wrighty wants fix any outstanding salary cap issues, and have the new LM to come in with a clean slate to work with...

I'm not really sure where to put this but Harvey's insights are what they are. Worth a listen re thoughts on list profile, DeGoey and the future.

He lets slip? McRae has the gig

Happy with the McRae/Leppa team. Leppa was my pick for the top job but I’m happy to have him at the club. This could be an interesting period for the club, we’re definitely going in a different direction. Rather than going for the big names and jobs for mates we’re actually building a good football department.

I'm also happy Leppa is apparently coming aboard but I've seen a bit of this and it does make me wonder what the difference is between Buckley hiring a good friend, former teammate and former senior coach of another club as assistant (Boo! Jobs for mates!) and McRae hiring a good friend, former teammate and former senior coach of another club as assistant (Yay! Fresh blood! New thinking!).

Apex36 isnt going to like this hah. MJ could you please link us to something confirming Lynch has re-signed?
For his sake I hope it’s not Paiges tweet…

I share some of this concern but at least it’s a new set of mates and they come from clubs which have been successful.

The AFL is a small world and appointments are often made on the basis of friendships and connections (Gubby Allen says hi). The problems arise when the appointees are not right for the job. So far, those linked with Collingwood and McRae appear to have the right experience and background.
