Wright would have worked with Yze for a long time too. Just sayin’.

I’m starting to warm to the idea of Yze as well.

Jordan Lewis gave him a huge wrap and the opinion of a 4 time premiership player holds some credibility I think in this instance.

We’ve sacked bucks because after 10
Years we have 0 flags, why would we go for an experienced coach with 0 flags? Make no sense to me. Lyon is the hardest pass. Was sacked by freo not so long ago…. Freo….

Yep bring him on.

Why? Whats he achieved?

Started at West Coast as an assistant and they won the flag in his first and only year as a full time non playing assistant. Then went to Hawthorn who have been on the slide ever since. What is actually on his CV that makes him so worthy? Seems like a good bloke who loves the game and has hung out a lot with Clarkson. Is that enough?

Interesting to see licuria saying it doesn’t have to be a big name. I received some info last week the dale tapping is the big dark horse in the race. Midfield coach at Brisbane now, highly spoken of by the pies senior playing group. One to watch.

I come in peace.

Just wanted to say that for the North job (the most recent head coach change) Kingsley, Graham and Mattner got look-ins. You'd imagine these guys will go close for Collingwood too. Mitchell and Voss smartly said no - because they don't want to tarnish their career prospects by going through a process where they won't be successful (Voss done and dusted imo and Mitchell too young).

what do you guys think of Mitchell here?

The “has to commit to a 2-5 year process” thing might actually rule out a few of the rusted-on coaching stalwarts. I am skeptical of Clarkson making that sort of a commitment, ditto Lyon.

My preferred options are:
- Choco/Mitchell succession plan suggested by Kane Cornes (probablythe first time I've actually enjoyed something he's suggested). Choco coaches for 1-2 years, and hands the keys over. While it was a bit of a mess when the Pies did it last time, the emotional connection there from MM made it difficult. It's worked pretty well for other clubs since.

- Mitchell head coach, but with Choco and another experienced assistant around him such as Leppa/Voss

Either way i want some sort of Mitchell/Chocco combination and plenty of capable support

Agree that's why I think someone younger is the go here ala Yze, Mitchell, Kingsley better fit
I am the only one in my friendship circle that doesn't own a microwave.

If we get Voss, it will be the first thing I buy.
100% do not want Voss or Leppa or Lyon

'Good hard tough football with an attacking mindset.' I love that shit.

Pretty calm and relaxed bloke.. doesn't overcomplicate shit.. speaks well. Believes in playing young players. The players look like they believe in him.. so I don't think they'd let him down. Doesn't give me the impression he's showboating.. good sense of humility. Wants to get the crowd involved.. absolutely love that shit. Gives me the impression he'd be the first bloke out there signing autographs and he'd want his players to do the same. Looks like a good manager of blokes.. knows how to speak to players and how to get a reaction from certain players and the group. Different approaches for different footballers and that re. Looks like a good tactician.. sometimes all you need to say is.. you're a better side.. and I'm backing ya to snag 8 sausage rolls this qrt and that re..

Overall.. I can see a lot of him in me re.. professional genius fighter sharp.. trusts and loves his players.. believes everyone of em have got that inner beast mode in em and wants to see it out there on the pitch..

So yes.. let's get him.

Interesting that Lica suggested that was the issue with Bucks continuing, he wasn’t sure he could commit to 2-5 years. Adds some context to Bucks own comments in the presser.

Interesting video. Honestly I think his personality while coaching comes across as slightly unlikable and not genuine. Couldn't quite out my finger in it while watching but it didn't resonate with me at all.

Thought the moment where he was on the phone directing the player to play on the other side of the ground and said thank you at the end felt passive aggressive and weird.

Let’s look at a few things

We are going to be ordinary for 3-5 years. The coach is going to be under pressure, media love stirring up a story at Collingwood and will constantly question our appointment

I like Mitchell. I think he speaks well for a modern coach which is more about communication than inspiring.

Can he handle the media and external noise?

The bonus is we have had 4 coach’s since 1986.... since then we’ve played in a lot of finals and 6 grand finals for 2 wins. Overall I think it’s a very appealing job i think any upcoming coach should be keen on.

Any chance of getting Luke Ball on the board to search for a coach? Even better, on the board.

Are you that desperate to rule Ross Lyon out of contention?
