With the priority pick now off the table, it looks like we'll end up with something between picks 4 and 6.

Who should we take?

Judging from what I've heard on this board previously, Lucas and Morabito are the two most likely. Will both be available? If so, who's the better bet?

Lucas is outside, quick and breaks away from the contest from what I've seen of him. Masten is in and under.

I personally love the looks of Travis Colyer.

Scully, Trengrove and Stevens are not really what we need, all three are ball winners especially Scully and Stevens. Both Scully and Trengrove have massive tanks but thats not something that should always be looked at to hard when drafting, Lucas could run as hard as both those two anyway

Splitting Lucas and Morabito is hard, Morabito could dominate AFL he has all the tools to do it, 191+cm explosive midfielder are very rare and it would be nice to have two of them, if his kicking skills where up to it id say he would go #1 without question. Has a nice mix of inside and outside work and if the ball is on the ground and he's goal side of his opponent you can forget about stopping him.

Lucas is seriously under rated, big tank, good skills by hand and foot he is a good height at 188cm (still growing), can play as an effective lead up forward and work up the ground. You will have yourself one very good player but he will take a few years to develop.

I dont think we should take a KPD, personally i would stick with Schofield, Mckenzie and Spangher for another year before we look to draft another tall.

Im with Lewigie only im now thinking the best draft would be Morabito, Colyer, Jetta and Winmar. Wont be one paced if we got those guys. :D

We need a line breaking half forward flank who can finish.

Lucas seems to fit that mould as he is regarded as one of the best kicks in this draft. If not the best.

I do like the sound of Morabito though. I read he's been compared to Goodes. Gee, that'd be terrible to have on our list.

I have always liked Lucas the kids footskills skills are elite, for a right footer he seems sometimes better on his left at time's as well.

Morabito seen and awful lot of him this year watched alot of peel games.

Still feel Lucas will be better and more constistant long term, Mora runs himself into trouble at times, and can look like a deer in head lights (a bit like Nico)

But he does have alot of xfactor, and his speed will break games apart.

But if Trengove was still available at our pick I would grab him, he is a complete mid already who kicks lots of goals.

Could get a game now for us on the half foward flank.

As for other picks (adagio look away) im pretty much want the same as EH.

Colyer
Jetta
Winmar
(glad you come around to my thinking on him EH would rather him than Nat Fyfe though Nat is very good)
Aaron Black (super foward for Peel if any of you get a chance to see a peel game this year get to the ground and watch this kid. I was hoping the club could keep him under raps as I know we are interested in him, dont think that will happen now was hoping to rookie him but his form has been to good and has got a invite to the national draft camp now 196cm power foward great mark great kick on goal has real presence is a south west kid thats why he went unnoticed for so long)

Rookies I want

Rhett Mason (love this kid)
Michael Cooper
Anthony Delborello (great medium foward clever player)

Gee, it's more exciting this year, we dont know who will go where. (Besides Scully?)

I'm kinda leaning towards Trengove lol... or maybe Morabito.

With our other picks I'd want Jetta and Winmar.

Trengove.

Without a doubt, if available when its time for us to pick.

Given that Melbourne will now get 1 & 2 and we will probably pick after Fremantle and I suspect North, is there any chance at all of Trengrove being available?

He just seems to be firming as pick 2 behind Scully.

Importantly, there are a good 5 or 6 names being thrown around here, so I dont think we'll be too disappointed regardless of who we nab.

Lucas for mine, would prefer someone with good skills as we need to improve our foot skills through the middle
Totally Agree.....

Kane Lucas Is a Must with our first draft pick.
This kid is all class and IMO will be the best player from this draft after 50 games.

Melb have 1 & 2 So expect Scully and Butcher to go with those picks.
Freo- 3: More likely to take Moribito with this pick.
Nth- 4: Trengove will go at 4 without a doubt
WCE- 5: Kane Lucas will be the best available at this point and we would be stupid to over look him.

If we dont trade well we could very well lose Jetta to Freo or Nth who have shown interest in small Quick players.

I think we will need to secure a Late first rnd pick or even Nths PP to get him.
We can pick up some good players late in the draft, as many will slip under the radar with teams wanting youth over talent.

Trengove can play a bit, it's fair to say.

Colyer is very good, reminds me of Brent Harvey.

Winmar: could be anything. Tall reasonably quick, good disposal good over head.

I like Mark Hutchings, if we can boot Mundy for a second round I'd grab him

Best available Western Australian.

I've been all for looking outside our own backyard in recent years but it's a crying shame seeing the majority of top WA talent plying their trade interstate.

Scully is the number 1 pick and Trengrove is the second best in the draft by some way. Both will be superstars of the future...

However I think Melbourne will pick Scully and Butcher which makes sense with their list.

Freo are likley to get pick 3 and Morabito has Freo written all over him but I think they should be looking for an inside mid given that they took Hill last draft. They would be stupid to overlook Trengrove but Freo are stupid and they will probably pick Morabito.

Pick 4 should depend upon who wins out of us and North in 2 weeks time and Trengrove won't slip past 4, you can never have too many quality mids and this kid is already getting 30+ possessions in the seniors.

Feeling the top 5 will go:

Melb -Scully
Melb - Butcher
Freo - Morabito
North - Trengrove
WCE - Lucas

Richmond will pick next and no doubt pick a dud, Koby Stevens perhaps?
