It's 2024 mate, you missed all the threads beforehand bad luck.
A brief interlude.
But good on you for making it through. Must've been fun times.

Hate to break it to you though, you peaked in a prelim last year and have just completely ballsed up your trade period. Won't be long now till the good old days are back.

But wait, it gets better.....

Collingwood's median ladder position since 2001 is.....

6th.

So Collingwood's median ladder position is only one spot lower than Carlton's HIGHEST ladder position in the same timeframe.

OMFG.
It's 2024 and Pies just signed Membrey, reality will hit soon.

Yep, you continue to believe that.

'Why would we want a 2 x All-Australian who would make our team much better and his first choice was our club?'
You can literally ask that question every year because every year there will be one or more A graders moving clubs. It is not sustainable to just bring in these players whenever they are available. It's all about a balanced approach to list management

And a 'balanced approach to list management' would be to ensure you are positioned to bring in a player of Houston's calibre if he lands on your doorstep, because that doesn't happen every year.

I said 3 years ago that Carlton's list was far too top heavy, and they'll find themselves in this position.

And guess what?

So your argument is Carlton are top heavy and the solution is to become more top heavy by bringing in another high salary player that isn't even a need? I'm glad you aren't on our LM team

A dual All-Australian elite ball user in his prime is not a need at Carlton....
A HB is not a pressing need. There will be another AA moving clubs next year and the year after and so on. It's simply not an argument. Carlton have done a lot of recruiting from other clubs in recent years and are now hitting the draft in supposedly the best draft in years = balance

But how often to Carlton have the opportunity to pick up these 'dual All-Australians that move clubs each year'?

Carlton are hitting the draft because they have no alternate option.

Again I know you want to believe that but Carlton had the ability to get the Houston deal done and chose not to. Club has been talking about hitting the draft for ages and Voss would not be speaking to players we couldn't bring in if we wanted to.

That's correct. Finally got something correct. Good for you!
Oh, and you don't "school" anyone!
Haven't you worked it out yet? Most of the time no-one reads all of what you've written anyway coz you sprout the same garbage over and over again with a completely biased view.
The only people on BF that take you seriously are your nuffy pie mates who follow your every word. Blind (by biase) leading the blind.
