2024 Collingwood couldn't beat Essendon, cost them a finals birth,
Is this a Pies v Essendon who was better thread?

Carlton couldn't beat Collingwood!

Carlton played in a Prelim in 2023 you know where the top 4 play to see who makes the GF and back it up with finals again in2024.
Carlton currently have a 24 year ACTIVE streak of not being good enough to have a top 4 H&A finish.

Carlton haven't played in a GF in the 21st century, they have an ACTIVE 26 season streak without a GF appearance.

Blueshizens indeed
Wonder how the Pies went in 2024?
In 2024, Pies had a down year where we only managed 52 points in H&A season.

52 points in a H&A season for Carlton is top 3 seasons of the 21st century territory!! 🤣

Comprehension mate and if anything i said wasn't a fact let me know.

To be fair if you play an EF and go 60-0 and struggle to score anything for the entire first half, did you really play in the 2024 finals? We gunna count that one?

The top 4 H&A teams each season play in the QFs in week 1 of finals for the right to host a home PF.

Carlton haven't been involved in a QF in the 21st century. Stephen Silvagni played in Carlton's last QF (he was one of their best).

Carlton enters 2025 with an ACTIVE streak of 24 seasons without a top 4 H&A finals finish...that is relevant to the 2025 thread.

You're overcomplicating it for Carlton supporters, using terms like 'Qualifying Final' - how are they supposed to know what that is?

I'm yet to have any Carlton supporter respond with an alternative number with accompanying rationale.

But I guess it's easier to bury your head in the sand...
We've been through this 100 times Fudger. You don't have the time nor the brain capacity to accurately calculate the probability of anything occurring 30 years from now.

If you want to show us how you adjusted for the chance of the AFL dissolving, more teams being added, teams being removed, a new division based system being introduced, salary caps being removed, zones being reallocated, China invading Australia, nuclear apocalypse, a meteor wiping out half the population etc etc into your calculations I'll be happy to listen to your mumbo jumbo mathematics.

Otherwise stick to fantasizing about Nicky and stfu with this nonsense you bring up every 3-4 months.

The impact of everything you mentioned to the probability calculation is negligible, based on the probability of any of those events occurring (and if they do, favouring Carlton's chances).

So go on - if the probability of Carlton's current premiership drought extending to 60 years is not circa 18%, what is it?

PinnochiArr0w points out that Dopple references Carlton posters talking about what happened 50 years ago, with another post from Dopple highlighting what happened in the most recent season, together with a reference to an active streak.

And he thinks he hit some type of gotcha...

Carlton were better in 2024

As for the past, we can all frame a timeline

Ha ha ha talk about deflection when i was only talking about 2024.

Did I say it wasn't a fact?

It's just a terrible attempt at a sick burn - referencing a year Collingwood won the flag as part of your flex.

But I guess as a Carlton supporter, you haven't got much to work with...
Collingwood had nothing to do with my reply, just stick to the actual theme of the conversation instead of taking it somewhere else.

Were we in the final 8 or not, a simple yes or no answer will do?

Gee, you're really struggling. 'Collingwood' was actually the 2nd word in the original post being referenced.

Nerves must be taking over with the new season approaching. Oh, the weight of expectation backing up after successive finals appearances!

Comprehension mate, where did i mention a QF?

You guys love the word 'pretenders'.

Would Carlton be classified as one of the biggest finals 'pretenders' in the history of the game, given they failed to beat a top 15 team in the last 2 months of the season, and went 0 and 60 in the first 50 minutes of their Elimination Final?
