Well they were SECOND BEST if we just consider the home and away ladder and not consider other factors such as the draw.

Alternatively, they were THIRD BEST if we consider the results after the finals, and not consider the opposition each of the respective teams had in the finals.

=3. Geelong and GWS (strong finals performances from both teams).
