Burgoyne avges 30 goals a year and that's probably good enough to run third.
Would love to see 20+ each from Ossie & Cyril as well.

I dont see a spot for Dowler up forward if both Roughy & Buddy are fit.
Isnt this the reason Boyle couldnt crack a game? (obviously in 2008, not 2009)
Too top heavy with all 3 up forward in my view...thoughts?

Coleman Medalist = J.Roughead Hawthorn Leading Goalkicker = J.Roughead 75-85 goals.. im tipping Roughead 2 have his best season ever! GO HAWKS!!!
yeh expect both Ossie & Cyril 2 both kick 20+ goals next yr lets not forget in 2008 we had 6 players kick 20+ goals
L.Franklin 113
J.Roughead 75
M.Williams 46
M.Osborne 28
C.Rioli 24
L.Hodge 20
Although I seriously rate Dowler and think he will be a part of the clubs future I reckon Morton is being groomed to replace Willo - this could be interesting as both Dowler and Morton could play in the side together as tall flankers that are quick and can play as lead up forward creating a nightmare for opposition backmen. This is the new forward line - multi pronged lead up forwards that can revert to quck defensive type players like the role played by flankers.
Props accepted. And that's who I voted for tooI'm thinking riolimite.
Props to nev.
Agree with this, although our lack of ruck depth might force us to bulk Dowler up as backup and therefore run him as the 'true' CHF, Morton as a fourth, very mobile tall and Ossie on the other flank.
'Buddy's Box' with 2 leading out from FF and 2 running back from CHF is a really good strategy I believe that was only mildly successful because 90% of the delivery went to Buddy. Time to resurect it I reckon.

Ouch - this concept would create a nightmare for any side in the league as I cant see anyone with enough quality backs to be able to stop all forwards in any game. Concentrate on Buddy - Roughie fires, move to Roughie, Dowler fires, move to him Morton takes over - would even be worse with multiple quick predefined planned rotations during each quarter. The other fact is that all 4 of the guys mentioned can play up the ground - as you said it is the box but in some ways a new box not solely concentrating on 1 player.
Hmm... this is awkward, those are 2008 stats...Hmm.. this is awkward, Mark Williams was traded..
if x. Ellis & shiels come on like we hope & young is fit & firing again then i would like to see hodge spend a lot more time forward. Maybe 10 - 15 mins per quarter deep in attack.
His ability to read and win his own ball and take strong marks would make him a nightmare to defend. He would also make his defender so accountable and reduce their ability to run - i see him ruining the day of a running defender like jason gram (st k) - hodge would be the guy's worst nightmare....
Not sure if he would be #3 goal kicker with limited time down there but certainly see him kicking 40+ goals (2 per game).
