Who will win the Brownlow?

Last year Ablett polled votes in 8 of Gold Coast's losses, 3 times he got the 3 votes in losing teams.

2 of his 3 votes he got in 50+ point losses
He also polled in a number of other 50+ point losses.

I think it is clear Ablett can still poll well despite the team getting thrashed.

Won't be surprised if he's a Crows player, hopefully the one I backed at $23.

Starting to think Swan is a big chance. Essendon have tapered off in a big way and bye extension Watsons' chances have as well. Still think he has a shot, but not the shoe-in I thought he was 1-2 months ago. He is not quite in the league of Ablett of being able to poll when in drubbings I wouldn't think. I'd still have him in the top 3 though, just don't know if it'll be enough to win it.

Swallow polled very well last year and has been much more consistent this year IMO… don’t know what that means though. Daniel Wells was exceptional last year and polled the lowest he had in years. I tend to think that the Brownlow votes trend 12 months behind form a lot of the time.

If Thompson gets suspended, I reckon Swan comes out with it. Watto has been great, but it wouldn't surprise me if he polled less votes than what people thought he would at this stage. I reckon he might have 15-20, not the 25-30 some media counts have had him at.

probably because he already has one and there are better blokes out there who don't bash defenceless cleaners.

Wow. You are a real piece of shit, never made a mistake in your life? I'm pretty sure 99% would agree that Swan seems like he's nothing but a good bloke these days.

Swan will win the brownlow and I hope it ****ing burns you.

why dont you want to see Swan win it?

My slightly better response would be because Swan hasn't been any kind of influence this season, him winning it after this season would be as much a travesty as Judd winning it over Ablett in 2010, and that's ignoring the Pavlich elbow fiasco - he's consistently not been the best Collingwood player on the ground, let alone the best when both teams are taken into account.

The man is averaging 35 disposals a game. Surely you cannot argue that there is no influence there? He kicks goals, runs with the ball, and clears the footy. Is it because he is sort of ugly to watch?

You say that as though disposals are everything - he racked up 49 touches recently against Hawthorn, the vast majority of them meaningless chips across the halfback line. Despite having those 49 touches, Jordan Lewis was universally recognised as being best afield, and Beams was recognised as being best afield for the Pies.
