If his contract expires and his priority is simply to come home, then why bother with a trade? He can just walk away and go in the pre-season draft (assuming a melbourne club gets the spoon next year).

Seriously, if they had the chance to secure one of the best CHFs they would jump at the chance. Their midfield would cope.

Trouble is the other team would have no use for Judd if there was no gun CHF to get the ball quickly too.

SO basically, some players at their peak are untradable as the team don;t want to lose them, and the other teams can;t afford to give away a season's of draft picks and/or their best players to get him.

Look I agree. I mean the Pav suggestion was scoffed at by WCE fans, but seriously there is no way we would give you Pav for Judd even if you were begging. they are just too integral to both sides. Except that Judd is maybe less integral... if you could palm Judd off to an average side, say Pies, where he could get a huge wage and not threaten, and in exchange got a superb CHF (ok so the Pies have obviously had to find one), then that would be a smart move from WCE. The WCE midfield would still be awesome no doubt.

Straight swap Judd for Riewoldt would probably be considered, if not- Riewoldt + Sam Fisher (top 2 in our B&F) for Judd + Second round draft pick. (Keeping in mind that I would never agree to this)

West Coast with star CHF and no Judd > West Coast with Judd and no CHF.

A midfield of Cox, Seaby, Cousins, Kerr, Stenglein, Embley, Fletcher, Braun, Waters, Selwood and Rosa is still probably the best in the comp. If they had a CHF to kick it to they'd be unstoppable.
