My dad and brothers were all port fans, so I became one too. I grew up during the 80's and 90's and enjoyed so many Port Adelaide premierships as a kid that no other team really had a chance.

I grew up with everyone in my family, except my sister (Port), barracking for the Crows...

And of course Luke Jericho !!! ;)

I was born in Perth so naturally I started going for the Eagles when they entered the competition. Haven't looked back since and will never support anyone else.

Because we beat Collingwood in two, not one, but count them (one, two), that's two GF's. This should be a good enough reason for everyone to follow the Lions.

Because I enjoy the humiliation, torture, being publicy shamed, and getting my hopes up every few years just to be completely disappointed again.

But I wouldn't change that for the world.

i remember following the way Robbie Flower used to play and just went from there. Came over to Melbourne in mid 80's to watch a match and i was hooked.

I can't say that Melbourne of the Early to Mid Eighties got any supporters on their form.

I live in Joondalup, drive a 4WD, drink wine and like knitting during matches. Also it's easier when you have someone telling you when and what to cheer.

(Did I miss anything?)

I was brainwashed by a friend when I was 6 & didn't like football (I liked the colours red & blue), saw us winning a reserves premiership & thought it was the real thing :D
I became emotionally attached to all the players and most things encompassing my life are devoid of success so supporting Melbourne is no different & quite comfortable for me.
