Universal Love Why Kirby must play AFL seniors!

How does someone not get fit enough in 8 months when their full time job is Football?

Pretty concerning.
You need to remember most AFL draftees have a pretty good fitness base from being involved in elite under age programs. i'm not sure Kirby had that fitness base to to build on, he's also very heavy set, almost islander like so he's going to take a while yet IMO.

Never mind the weekly bags of goals, but Kirby's marking is criminally underrated. Has vice-like hands.:D
Is it? Most reports I've seen have said he flys with the best of them.

Post was partly tongue in cheek. We applaud his goal sense, but he is a lovely pack mark and not too shabby out in front either.

We play Port away next week don't we? I can see both sides of the argument for his selection. The not playing him reason mostly being the challenging first up encounter. Personally leaning towards playing him tho...

Wouldn't bother now. The time was right a month ago and we opted not to give him a chance to impress. Three matches at the end of the season under a coaching group as inept as ours adds no real value because it'll end up like Brown's taste.

Poor Kirby, Blair playing for his career and will likely keep him out.

All I care about now is my own entertainment and Kirby will entertain me more than Blair and co

In that case we probably should play Mayne as well. It will be entertaining watching him running around doing his retired footballer impersonations and watching Eds cheeks flush red with embarrassment. Seir in the seniors would be good for shits and giggles too....

Great that Kirby has been given a taste of the big time in the final game of the season.

Seem to recall someone suggesting just that.;)

Still I'll be tempering my expectations for today as it's all about next year for Kirby now.
