Didn't Darren Millane and Denis Banks get charged with armed robbery?

Hijacking a bus. Get your story right.

and it wasnt exactly linked with organised crime. More of a drunken act. The bus moved a whole 3 metres.

Thanks for your insights, but no thanks....Fevola is the last thing Collingwood needs, if we waste a pick on him I will be fuming....

Definitly not talking a pick for Fevola. A straight swap only. Collingwood can only use this years draft picks on young upcoming midfield talant.

Answer the following two questions-

Who would be better value as a Full Forward if Collingwood picks up 2 of the best young midfielders in the land this draft?

Who would be better value as a Full Forward if Collingwood can turn one of the following into a dominant CHF. C.Cloke, T.Davidson, Richards or Walker?

Both answers would be Fevola.

Fevola is a better leading contested marker, a better kick for goal and rarely travels outside of his goal kicking range. Tarrant, buy fault or design (my pick design) travels too far outside the forward 50 to play more of a CHF role.

Take the goal kicker. It just might be what both players need to help them take the next step.

Dependant upon the depth of this years draft hopefulls. If Collingwood finish last and have a priority pick (picks 1 & 2 overall) then trading Tarrant for Fevola could be a good thing for Collingwood.

Pick up the two best young midfielders and a 60 plus a year goal kicker for a 30 - 40 goal a year player.

If the younger KPP's Collingwood have picked up over the last two years can fill the CHF role then Tarrant with his leading up the ground would not be required. And of the two (Fevola & Tarrant) Fevola is a much better close to goal player.

Why would we do that? If we have pick 1 or 2, we can get him in the pre-season draft for nothing!

You're assuming Fevola will end up in the PSD.

I think there would a sh*tload of clubs willing to trade for him, so you'd be relying on Fevola demanding to get drafted to Collingwood, obstructing all other trades.

Highly unlikely.

Perfect. Didn't think of that.
Although if Fevola didn't get to the PSD (highly likely Carlton would swap him with someone) I'd still swap Tarrant for Fevola.

Nice to have forward half.

Tarrant C.Cloke T.Cloke
Rocca Fevola Egan

Throw into the mix Richards, Walker, Fraser, Didak, Davis, Rowe and the future doesn't look so bleak.

If we are fair dinkum we don't need Fevola. I don't thing the club are even heavily interested in him, it's just that the feeling around some people is we need a key forward ever since we went after Brown. Well I've got news for you. We went for Brown because he is one of the best players in the competition and consistantly wins games (if there is such a thing).
Sure it would be nice to have Fevola to add to our forwarld line but midfielders are so far ahead of forwards as far as necessity goes. Although our defence has probably been our best part of this year, we need another youngish key defender more than we need another key forward.

what happens, hypothetically.. if he had privately agreed to a new deal with collingwood (or any other club for that matter), and declined any trade offers carlton had conjured up. I'm pretty sure the club cant FORCE a trade onto a player.

na, wouldnt really be interested.. would love to have fev but not for tarrant.

thats not to say tarrant is better, but i think tarrant does more to help those around him when he's not performing the way he's expected to (ie, goals, marks)

fev has a habit of completely disappearing. We have enough of those :)

Imagine Fev and Taz in the same forward line....

Gardiner and pick 18 and 34 -> Collingwood, Tarrant -> Hawthorn, Jonny Hay pick 20 and 36 -> WCE.

Depending on Mark Williams and if he keeps kicking goals!

or

Gardiner and 2 picks -> Collingwood, Tarrant -> Hawthorn, Williams pick 20 -> WCE

Dal Santo -> Collingwood, Collingwood -> Stk - Fisting (nothing)
