Looks a hard worker, and nippy, and high IQ... chooses the short option quite a bit, maybe he aims for a bit more metres gained and hurt factor with time. Good selection though, as we probably need the types that can get the ball on a string.

Xavier Ivisic is a midfielder whose running capacity sets him apart. Capable of driving his legs to the outside and spreading harder than others, he has also worked on becoming a more prominent figure at the contest to compliment his strong work rate.
Ivisic boasts a high footy IQ to run both hard and smart patterns, getting into all the right spots both as a midfielder and high forward. He split his time between both roles over the last two seasons and has been a consistent accumulator, posting between 20-29 disposals in each of his six CTL games this season.
While certainly a neat user of the ball with good short-range skills and one-touch handling, Ivisic can perhaps work on enhancing his impact per possession. Particularly if he begins his career on the outside or up forward, being able to hurt the opposition consistently will be key to his success.

He's good Xavier I just wonder where we use him in the vfl as we have a lot of smaller mids that size already. But he's worth a shot.

Potentially but we have a lot of mids his size like bruhn Clark clohesy atkins etc and a lot of small forwards so it will be interesting for me where we play him. I wonder if he gets tried at hbf in the vfl next year. But he's a smart player and he does impress me.
size was probably why I was dripping with enthusiasm predraft …not that he cant play ..but that we have a bit of that already. Time will tell… if the club rated him ahead of Henderson or who ever ..then fine..I back them. He has a chance..its more than most have ..and I suspect we will give him more of a go than Hardie or whoever due to age.
HBF? Yes Maybe ..I suspect ..one of this mids is going to end up being Ian Nankervis in the BP. So many small forwards now.
I went back and watched a bit of the Vic MvC game…. he seems neat ..and sort of a bit Parish like ..in that he links up. gets to the right places. Compared to someone like Dempsey.. some might say overly damaging or vanilla etc but he is neat and Id say he will off ball security in a chain. I wish him all the best. Kick serious A in the preseason and make yourself un-ignorable..
One thing that might favour him, is that group is very inside biased, and not really evasive.
I wonder how much longer Atkins has as an inside midfielder
Touch of Shannon Boo-yrnes as well.
Finds the pill more, also a bit bigger... I think Ivisic can link up with his ability to find the holes, and drop in them with the short pass... You know if we slow the play. Winger/Flanker for me.
