Weird isn't it. Benny Hill dressed like a lady, but never got called woke. Until now.

Frank Bum , what do you think?
Al Bundy. Another one helping to spread the trope. Homer Simpson (although yellow rather than white). Fred Flinstone. This hideous trope that is destroying the lives of white man has been assidously spread for years by a woke mainstream media going back to the 60s and probably beforehand.

Harold Bishop tried to smash the third wall and we ended up with Albanese

Modern men need to harden up a bit, any suggestion that they aren't still mummy's best and brightest seems to attract paroxysms of anger that wasn't there even twenty years ago.

EVs have probably surpassed ice in terms of economics in terms of price being offset by running costs. They've definitely surpassed them in terms of environmental impact. They're not yet as convenient due to charging issues.

But this is about the future with a backdrop of consistent strong improvement in EV tech and infrastructure whilst ICE improves very very slowly. It's pretty clear where we're heading.

If you just look at it from an Australian perspective, it's easy to position it as woke versus non-woke, but this is global. It's where the globabl investement, research and development is targetted - by government as well as very un-woke (despite some of their statements) for profit firms. And to cap it off, the very un-woke forward planning Chinese government have gone all in on EV. It's just not a culture wars issue - it's a technology issue with EVs making rapid ground and looking like surpassing ICE pretty soon, which will benefit the world.

Like I said above, there's definitely a place for EVs but governments shouldn't be forcing manufacturers to make that switch. If the technology is superior, and the costs and convenience stack up for buyers then the market will dictate.

Car makers have committed to 'benefiting the world', by reducing emissions or buying carbon credits from Tesla. Most have a sensible strategy to have both EVs and ICE in their showrooms. Jaguar have gone alone with their fully woke strategy but it is currently not a car maker. It has become just a marketing brand that has ditched its long heritage and its customer base. It may or may not start selling cars again in 2026.

Sorry you're right, if modern men were more manly that would have never happened.
I don't regard resilience as a masculine concept, it's universal and if a personalised beer can upsets you so much you end up calling for a consumer boycott I'd definitely say it's part of your personality that needs looking at.

The Aust government is letting markets decide. However they're incentivising shifts to lower emissions. How else can they claim to have emission targets? Just sit back and hope the market moves in that direction?

All I'm saying guys, is that the Jaguar ad is quintessential British comedy.

If Jag released their ad on April 1 then reacted to the criticism by acknowledging it was a joke they might have had some credibility. But instead they doubled down by having a hissy fit about the 'hatred'.

Jag is shutting down their production lines. Up to 40,000 workers laid off. But **** them. They are mostly straight white guys.

If you look at the folk that get angry at it they tend to be ….. lesser examples.

That’s why they get so upset. They re/semble/sent it.
