We're talking about a car market not regulated by a non govt. profit organization. Not govt. legislation etc.

I don't know much about Jaguar and what they're doing, I'm just saying private enterprise trying influence their market usually fails.

These things take time, and the market will let private enterprise and / or govt. know when the market is ready to adopt EV on a large scale i:e take over ICE cars.
Where does this market exist?

What are you even trying to argue here.

It certainly doesn't appear to reflect reality. There's an increasing proportion of the market coming from non-ICE vehicles.

The US is showing a similar trend. As is the EU and China.

In Norway the majority > 80% of their new vehicles are EV's of some form.

Pretty clear that a range of Governments around the world are accelerating the move with legislation, taxes, R&D funding, subsidies, etc. That's one of the reasons that some are pushing back at EVs.

Exactly, if companies (or even govts.) try and 'force' market direction there'll be pushback. The market WILL! adopt EV's and by extension renewables.

No need to 'exert force' to accelerate it, it will accelerate on its own when the market is ready.

Read my original post in this discussion again, or just read if you haven't already.

If there was no government intervention there would be very few EVs if any.

It isn't market forces that is phasing out fossil fuels. Just like it wasn't market forces that got rid of CFCs.

Occasionally, humans come to together and agree to do/not to do things for the betterment of the planet, and that involves government intervention.

Fossil fuels are also subsidised.

Governments need to help with the infrastructure.

No one would buy petrol cars if the government didnt build roads.
