I thought it was Dutton that was virtue signalling?

So merely acknowledging the conversation around the stupidity of acknowledging the accomplishments of a foreign nation as your national day (let alone the complete disregard for the actual existence of first nations people) is enough for you to label something virtue signalling? Like most of the vapid catchphrases certain people like to parrot, once you subject them to even a cursory examination you quickly find that they're absolutely meaningless.
Whatever term you wanna use, they said 'broad community views' on behalf of the community.

Not that I give a s**t just pointing out what most are denying.

And then you come back with this speil about me somehow siding with the idea of this

Never suggested anything of the sort

Good luck rip curl. This should end well.

Don’t think anyone who actually buys rip curl would care apart from the odd 35+ year old Newley divorcee who wants to look hip when entering the dating pool again and thinks the surf look is still what the kids wear these days

Isn’t appropriating the term ‘woke’, in itself a woke act?
It seems to upset the woke whenever I state that language is fluid and then provide an alternative definition of the word 'woke', so presumably it's the opposite of woke to appropriate the term 'woke'.

Does anyone here know enough about surfing to confidently state whether transwoman have a physical advantage in the sport?

While being mindful that the trans community should be accepted and welcomed by society, there's room to debate some aspects of their 'rights'. An elite female surfer who opposes transwomen participation in their sport of choice is probably someone worth listening to.

We've reached the point where some parts of the left are happy to tell biological females (AFAB) that their opinion doesn't matter. It makes no sense to me, so I guess it's woke.

I’m comfortable enough to say I simply don’t know or have any easy answers and I honestly don’t think it’s something we will see a resolution that sees all camps happy one way or another
I can say like you I know enough about surfing to say if it offers a competitive advantage either

As much as it may look like a cop out its all I can really say and I’ll leave the debate up to people who have a better understanding

I guess a possibility is to just have extra category’s in comps that have could be open for all to enter but it still leaves open the debate to limit trans athletes compete in the non open categories

If Kelly Slater took testosterone blockers and chucks a wig on then I reckon he would still be pretty handy at surfing.

Muddiemoose has it about right in his most recent post here.
That’s because I’m always right
Even when I’m wrong
Unless I’m arguing with my wife… in that case I’m always wrong
