There have been a few recently towards the end of the year that defy both tactics and skill.
For mine, on a personal level, the 2005 about Round 6 of Port Adelaide versus Richmond at the Telstra Dome was probably the most insipid performance on my team I've ever seen. In the first half, we looked like world beaters, run hard and had high level skills. Then, Richmond played hard and tight and we just lost our bundle. Not one ounce of leadership and Richmond ran over us very very easily and they did so in a very cocky way.
It was a Jeckyl and Hyde performance and we really showed no ticker that day. ABsolutely f'n horrible.

They played decently against Geelong in Round 22 this year. One of the most dispirited, pathetic contests I've ever not bothered to stick around for.

The 1984 Grand Final was a terrible game: flat as a tack, riddled with errors and woeful kicking at goal. Then in the last quarter my team was steam-rollered by those bastards from Windy Hill, letting slip a 4 goal lead and a certain premiership. Can't get worse than that.
This year's game at Launceston between North and Hawthorn was a shocker, probably the second worst game for the year behind the Bryce Gibbs Cup between Essendon and Carlton.

I had to attend as my son was playing Little League - what a shocker.. it seemed like the goal squares were irradiated as no one came close to these areas. And it was a draw !

Another honourable mention. Was rated as one of the worst and most boring performances by two teams ever. I think that game had Bob Skilton tearing his grey hair out.
