The thread itself could be the problem.

That comment is the worst comment i have seen on BF EVER. Mitchell broke the record of clearances in one game and if he didn't miss games due to injury this year he would've been a contender for the brownlow.

Shows how much you know bout footy. ****************.

Not one of them stands out as the worst, maybe Nick Holland although he was a very good player that should have been able to go out on a high in 03 or 04, not fade away like he has.
It's called injuries. His whole footy carrer was distroyed by them. But he was good at the beginning, than he did fall off the pase. I still can't believe the stupid comment about Mitchell!

Obviously the number one criteria to be a West Coast Eagles supporter is to be a moron.

Michael Wilson and Byron Pickett by a long way. Just look at the players on either side of them (96 and 99). Surely Wilson and Pickett have been the most dissapointing.

lol all you want, but the fact is Goodes is the most overrated player of the century, Riewoldt is becoming quite close

Still trying to work out Riewoldts greatness, he takes uncontested marks on the wing, so? He cant kick straight, something I noticed last year but most people only picked up on late this year. I wouldnt take him at Collingwood, definately not worth what he would want

Mate u have to be dreaming he is a GUN player, the words best rover come to mind, Tap from the ruckman, Everitt to Micthell then BOOM......

michael wilson

The thread is a little mischevious, many could misconstrue it's meaning to be who doesn't deserve the rising star??

All winners were deserving of the award, Wilson's career has been cruelled by injuries as had Holland's.

Is the question:
which player, post winning the award has had the least impact??

or

which player was the worst player at the point of winning it??

In either instance it would be hard to justify Wilson's inclusion.

Jared Rivers is crap, most of those rising stars have had at least one season where they have been great players, Rivers spent his in the twos, and will continue to stay there, didn't see how he was any good in his first season anyway.

All players at the time of winning it and at other times during their career have or will be champions but few can sustain it such as Buckley/Cousins. To say there is a worst one is a joke because they were clearly the best eligible player that won in any given year. 3 of 13 are Brownlow Medallists which is a pretty good strike rate.

your a moron mate honestly take a look at his 2004 season. He was voted as the best young player by all the judges and the only other player that had any chance was his teammate Aaron Davey. Whether or not he plays good from now on who knows? but that year he was a gun and he was a big part of our winning streak early in the year. He has only had one season since and whilst not blowing anyone away he did have a few goodgames, give him another preseason of bulking up and he will improve dramatically.
