Worst Supporters in the AFL?

Port Adelaide by far. Every team has feral supporters, but the way Port Adelaide supporters turn on their players and coach is horrible. Charlie Dixon has been a great servant of the club, but he was vilified by supporters on Friday night. Yes he was clearly unfit, but the level of vitriol directed at him was next level. They blame the umpires, the AFL for ripping them off and Ken Hinkley for not winning a premiership. Like it is that easy. They say “We exist to win premierships” but if you can’t play in the big league, go back to the SANFL and beat up on all the amateurs. The way they jeered at an Adelaide player being taken off with concussion was very ugly.
I really think they need to take a look at themselves in the house of mirrors and think about what it really means. Footy is a game. We delight in success and feel disappointment with losses, but nobody feels that more than the players and coaches.

First post from a new account on a 17yo dead thread, I like it

Hawthorn fans have been unbearable this year. Their club Had one of the softest draws possible plus an amazing run with injuries and become England level flogs with Hokball.

They then stunk it up massively as sore losers when Port knocked them out of finals. Yuck club, yuck jumper, yuck players, yuck fans.

The part that really rammed this home for me was last years semi final when they played GWS and the Sack Hinkley sign fans took into the ground, it was putrid. In a point in the season they should still be trying to win the premiership no less.

5th hardest draw.
Lost our best mid for the first 6 games.
Our best key forward played 4 games.
Lost a key defender for the season.
Then lost our best mid and key defender in finals.

May not have a had a huge injury list but we lost key players for extended periods.

I hate Port Power as much as anyone but do feel for the supporters and members that they’re not a member run club. They’ve been around nearly 30 years, time to hand it over.

For me its always been the Pies supporters, but just recently I am leaning towards the Tiges.. As they say, change is inevitable .

Ferals..
LOL.
Dons supporters are historically hated by more opposition fans, excluding Collingwood and Richmond fans, for being the biggest mob of inbred campaigners every to crawl like slugs arseholes along the face of the earth.
Which is saying a lot given Richmond and Collingwood are far more hated generally.

At least you can hang your hat on being "best" at something.

That is carefully selected list of irrelevance, considering 10 of your 14 wins in the home and away season to get you to finals came against bottom 10 sides I’m not sure how you could possibly claim your draw was tough.

That injury list is stuff that most clubs dream of. Hawks looked way better without Mitch Lewis up front.

To be clear I’m not saying Hawks had a shit season, it was a great year and a tick on all fronts compared to preseason expectations. I’m just saying that it’s one year in isolation where a lot of things went right and don’t be surprised to see next year look very different.

Can we get some voting going on the following?

Worst supporters?
Biggest ferals?
Dumbest?
Biggest sooks?
Most apathetic?

One team in particular would cross over a number of these. A big hello to Pies supporters. Tigers not far behind them. Sooks belongs to the team with the grandest hand outs the Vic government has ever given to a sporting team. Apathetic...I'm open to suggestions.

Port Adelaide on all but the Apathetic one, cos they certainly do care.

I actually heard some bloke ring 5aa on Friday night saying they lost cos Eddie won’t let them wear the prison bars and they would have won if they had the guernsey they prefer, I kid you not. There’s the biggest sooks covered.

Us having the 5th hardest draw was a fact when the draw was released though.

Most clubs would dream of having a key mid, key defender and key forward out for extended periods?

The fact that you want to argue about this in the thread just confirms how insufferable some of you are.

It's an opinion-based thread so why clog it up with off-topic bs?

Every club in the AFL have supporters that become insufferable every time their team gets near the top of the ladder.

This is magnified whenver a team wins a flag or goes on a widly better than expected run.

However, there is only one club that has fans that are insufferable all year round, every season and that's Collingwood.

Richmond and Port are up there but everytime their club isnt winning they go missing so you get a bit of a break from them.

Yep.

WCE aren't much better.

Also not a fan of Essendon fans.

On a side note, this year I have found Freo and Blues fans very pleasant to engage with here as a neutral observer.

The ones on Bigfooty for the most part aren’t horrible with some clear exceptions

WORST WINNERS : Essendon, but I can't remember the last time they won a game so mostly basing this on their 1993-2000 era

WORST LOSERS: Richmond, we take footy pretty seriously
