Was at the game with a friend that was a past player as Newport had a past players day…. I must say the umpiring was atrocious & borderline cheating from one umpire in particular to a point where a spectator from Wyndhamvale agreed with us.
Should have seen the rams heights umpiring was a disgrace. By far the worst I’ve seen.

I have heard this from numerous people now about the Rams / Heights game. Not just from Rams people either but Heights and neutrals. Would be interested to get some examples of the bad umpiring.

Unfortunately mate it’s div2/3 footy and I’m sure Newport have given out there fair share of umpire abuse over the years so sometimes it takes a long time to recover and umpires don’t forget like players I guess who experience things against certain clubs and would never think to play at these clubs. Yes I understand Newport are trying hard but expect changes immediately buddy..

How come the wrfl don't display the full fixture? It only goes up to round 15. Surely there are still 4-5 weeks remaining before finals?
I found the fixture on Play HQ.

Is it a final 6 or 8?

Must be a better feeling at the Rams now and some encouragement for them for 2025. The move to WFNL D2, where they are competitive with a couple of sides has possibly saved them.

Worried about Tarneit though.
It's definitely something to work on for next year. Had they of stayed in the RDFL they would've been down and out. I'm wrapped for them.

They had been very keen for a while to join the WRFL. Paying dividends now. To be fair some our div 1 sides might struggle to beat the better RDFL sides.

Not sure about that. Their biggest loss last season was 167 points and while they had some poor results against other cellar-dwellers, they also weren't always demolished by the top sides. This year they've been beaten by 253 (Albion), 180 (Sunshine) and 185 (Suns). A fairly similar Albion lost to Parkside last year who went on a recruiting spree just to compete in D1.

I re-iterate "might struggle" :D
Couldnt see any of them losing

Rams lost quite a few players coming into this year. Teams last year were resting players and giving younger lads a run when playing rams. Tho I think if they had of kept players like Watts this year they would've been a bit better and they could of recruited more players just from him being there. There was quite a few guns who were bound for the rams but Watts left so they never came.
