unlock the other div 2 thread theres no action on this one,is there any talk about players coming or leaving clubs and how do people think the once mighty parkside will go next year in div 2

well will they retain their playing list from 2007 id imagine the likes of pickney, juegan jackel and co would ant 2 stay and play div 1 so i think its more or a question of who they can retain

I think the Parkside being a very proud club they are will attract good players to help them return to div 1 as quick as they dropped out of it.
Also may help like We$ts that they have a few dollars to spend

Maybe Jackal will come home to North Footscray!

Either way I think we will be stronger next year. Likely only to lose a couple and will pick up a few. Early days of course but reckon the Devils will be competitive again.

Old man Thommo has signed again. He just won't retire.

hay boys herd from an insider at parkside that yarraville have applyed to be dropped due to financial reason and players leaving. parkside may stay up? anyone herd this

wouldnt yarraville seddon have had to announce this on the 1st of october if it were to happen..
though i dont think it will..
and i think we'd be at a slight handicap in terms of recruitment.

ahh well.. dont see it happening.

From what i've heard Jackel signed a 2 year deal last year!!!!

im pretty sure jackal was close to playing for yarraville this year, only that he had a year left on his contract and the club wouldnt let him go.
im pretty sure his contract is expired now..
but i hope he comes back to parkside..
one year divi 2 wont hurt to bad.

the problem with parkside is that most of the players, especially under the age of 30 didnt play junior footy at parkside so there not that loyal and when things go bad like this year alot just take off to other clubs or were they came from, and i cant see much changing next year

couldnt agree more..
which is why the club is so happy with the current 18s group coming through..
theres a very tight core amongst the boys.
and many would agree this hasnt happened since the blokes (30-35) came through the system..
the club should have focused more heavily on the junior program whilst successful.

were u apart of last years 18's?.......

another thing with parkside i believe......that other than last year they have had some good coin floating around thats why they were so strong for many years.......good coin gets quality players.........they have had that.....with good success......now with that comes being too involved with the senior side of things and not worrying about the future........and that means no jnrs comming through the ranks playing seniors.......which is what has happened......no coin=no players.....no kids=no snr players as backup......its great that the jnrs are starting to get going but i cant see them improving until a full list of jnrs and it means every year for about 4 or 5 years u/10 thru to u/18 to get things going in the right direction......unless they get good sponsership or coin to fill the void for the meantime.....dont get me wrong this happens at alot of clubs but 1 of the powerhouses of the wrfl its a bit sad........

anyway its cricket season looking f/ward to unveiling of our flag from last year.........if it bloody stops raining.......:thumbsu:

yeah was part of the 18 team..
had a taste or two of seniors.
at parkside the 18s, reserves and seniors were all very closeknit..
trained together etc..

Lets hope Heights do shitful next year.
They have all the arrogance in the world, and consistently win nothing

Here's a thought? If Heights do have a good year and get up to divvy 1, what then? They have already made it pretty clear that they don't want to or can't pay players. IMO you can't even be competitive in divvy 1 if you don't pay players. Would they consider a move to the ammos competition? I reckon its right up their ally... thoughts???

Have heard on grapevine few problems down at pensioners with way players & coaching staff was treated during yr, weapons, any truth 2 this? Just got registered so 4give late news. How r the pensioners looking this upcoming season.

Not the only place with trouble. Spoke to a friend of a friend on the weekend who said that a heights player has been told to boot off to another club after a run in with bomber. Apparently he tried to get bomber sacked. Who would want this type of person in their club next year mmmm. May be td or gb50 or typewriter can shed some more light on this. Told too, many of the lebanese players are leaving after the big guy Faisal got dropped in the finals. The truth is he is not up to playing senior football due to his fitness. Have heard many times that he is a good guy and stuff like that but he is also a sooky la la. Sometimes the truth hurts.
