Yeah that was me. I dont have a match day role and I am always interested to see how other clubs operate and see the game so I generally stand on the side of the ground the opposition is on (not usually that close to the benck). I have listened to plenty of oppositioon coaches and when I was coaching had plenty of opposition supporters listen to me.
As far as I remember today was the first time a coach has cared. Was fairly amusing, especially when some smart bloke thought it was important to stand right in front of me so I couldnt see the stats that were being held up.... gee whiz. They weren't that impressive. I saw similar stats at our U11 last week.
Evo might have to pull out the old "cone of silence" in the finals.

Didn't you hear the blokes laughing when he stood in front of you? Had nothing to do with the coach. Anyhow those under 11 stats had WV pretty close at quarter time didn't they?
GO by about 100 points
Glenorden 155 - Manor Lakes 58, watched the game today real wake up call for manor lakes who were disappointing but not taking anything away from orden. Well oiled machine in front of a big crowd so pressure and stage fright not a issue for the hawks, Both Yze's dominated.....manor lakes wont make finals dishing that up against top sides and cant see Hawks losing a game

G.O were to good seemed be a lot stronger and the Forwards were very dangerous the full back did a awesome job on Priest but in his fairness the delivery wasn't great
Without trying sound bias I don't think the scores reflected the game ML were right in it during the 3rd but a slow start and not the taking there opportunities in the 2nd with the wind stopped this game being a lot closer

I have seen a few ML games this year and 1 WV PARKS and 2 GO games. It seems ML are good when oppesition is no good but when GO took it up to them they folded. I believe the score completly reflected the game. GO were never in trouble and I don't think ML will be able to match the top 3 but their draw does do them favours so finals they will make. I was standing next to the parents of one of the ML players and she was very disappointed with the ML coach and brother and supporters for their reactions. Number 1 for ML (coaches brother) was snip perving blokes all day but funny thing was only young blokes from GO as soon as someone with a bit of size come at him he was not so tough. And these parents were saying they were going to tell their son to go play somewhere else as they said the final straw to ML bad examples was after the coach at 3 quarter time speech about getting respect went out and tried to go toe to toe with GO Players... Not the way to get respect or a good example for what the new club has been preaching in their first year. In my opinion I thought ML were disappointing and altho they have some good players will struggle against top sides especially if they try to out muscle them as PARKSIDE WV and GO will outplay them and they will have them for strength so will be interesting to see if they can learn from their first taste of good oppesition.
I had to laugh at a comment I heard after the game from a GO player. storm in a tea cup haha

I would say your jumping the gun saying they are not good against the better teams they have played the best team in the comp lost easy lets see how they go against PS and WV first
She must not have been standing near the rooms where the GO supporters were yelling abuse all day over the fence at the forwards and defenders
You get that stuff at local footy there was no real fights a small dust up in the last with some jumkper punches and was finished pretty quickly
As for the sniping i see that as hitting a bloke behind the ball which none of that happened not a couple of bumps and pushes which was going on from both teams all day

As far as sniping, both teams got some good shots in,Yze gave his opponent one on the jaw in the first quarter, but no one spoke about bad culture, and know one got in hesterics, both teams appreciated a good old fashioned hit out.
As far as mothers being around the huddles at the breaks,well I'm yet to know one that would have any idea about what a coach is talking about.
The three quarter time point was be accountable for your opponent,if he wants to test you physically, take him on.
All along this game was about analyzing our strengths and weakness against the best oppososition,and to GO 's credit, they are the best team to see where you need to improve.
And to keep in simple, they were a 90 point better team. Better to know that now than later.

To be honest if a mother is telling a senior player most would be over 23 to move clubs thats got to be a concern on his part

So it seems that I must have posted something that can't be said.
Summary, we were competitive for 2 quarters. GO too good.
One peanut in the crowd who wanted to get involved, quickly dealt with by GO.
Looking forward to see how we go against other competition for finals spots.
Think we have a solid base to build off for a new club. Plenty of support on and off field.
Big turnout.

Paulie, looks to me that Foley is the scapegoat of an incident that many should have recieved the same treatment.
Maybe certain brothers who were right in the mix should be made examples of. Unfortunately they are your best players and SL appear to be putting these players above the club culture.
