I personaly wouldnt want to see a Div 3, My club West Footscray wouldn't want to go down as some other clubs wouldnt. With some standout teams in div 2 Atm it shows the lower clubs a standard they have to get to On/Off the field. Div 3 wouldnt help these teams if better players did leave

Totally agree.

I agree with you in principle but a club has to be competitive. Div 2 is the lowest in our league and there are sides who are struggling badly. This doesn't help with profile, recruitment and the all important dollar.
I think the 3rd division is a good idea that will allow clubs to experience some success on the field while still trying to get things right off the field. A win is a win regardless of the level played and we can't underestimate the importance of onfield success to the morale and energy of the whole club.
Of the struggling sides I've seen, there'd only be a couple of players who would cut it at more competitive Div2 clubs. Others who leave are just kidding themselves and would most likely play in the magoos.
A scenario. Lavo plays in Div3 in 2014. They chalk up heaps of wins, blokes off the field are busy selling their club to anyone who will listen. They use the fact that they are smashing it to help secure sponsors. They win the flag, pick up some players who are keen to play at a club that has gotten stronger off the field without the distractions caused by getting smashed every week.

Hi guys, how are Wyndamvale going?

How is Jack Marlais (Sanc Lakes) going as well? I know him well, from what I know of him - he's a great player.

What about clubs with promising juniors it is hard enough now to keep them ,they are being told to go to Divi 1 clubs if you drop down enougher divi ,they will leave in droves

Affected clubs would need to be consulted but no clubs were lost when both the EDFL and Northern FL recently moved to 3 divisions

Best thing to happen in ages for some of those clubs... Far less beltings and the chance of more victories than previous seasons... Has helped with player retention and recruitment too...

That will happen regardless of two or three divisions. Promising juniors, unless playing for a club in flag contention will and should look to Div 1 because the difference in standard is massive, you can't argue with that. GO right now would beat shit sides in Div1 but will get blown off the park by the better sides. The juniors will not want to play for a club that is getting pummeled every week anyway, regardless of the division. A kid is in the U18's, gets his chance to play senior footy, plays in a 30 goal loss. Plays again the next week, gets hammered by 20 goals. Yep, he'll stick around for some more of that.

Dunno bout that, think he's booked calling the footy. Be good to see. You'd think GO would be telling anyone who'd listen that Mooney was playing as they're also doing a fund raiser on the day.
Come on check side commo got dropped for him, will be a good day win :D :D :D lose or draw to raise money for cancer.

My spies tell me Big Bad Moon Dog Mooney to pull on boots tomorrow ,they will smack CS by 40 + goals.

didnt see mooney at all nor kingsley. yze kicked 10 goals but probably cost his team an extra 4 or 5 by random shots when others were on.. now seeing them first hand i think they are good enough to make the grand final but a lock for a flag is a long way off parkside still number1 for me

Flags aren't won in June bloke. Never over til that final siren goes on the 7th of September at approximately 5pm. End of.

Also forecast for tomorrow is the best weather we would have had all season for all teams.

Glenorden 10 - 0 VS Laverton 0 -10

The lads are pumped, prediciting a massive cricket score with no foot being taken off the peddle I can tell ya that much.

Oh & another prediction joejoe - Your boy "Ooze" to kick more goals than you've had hot dinners.

;)

You "THINK" they are good enough to make the Grand Final lol,
'ALONG WAY OFF PARKSIDE"
Least your bringing some humour to the Forumn,
Thanks Joe Joe ;)

How will Parkside, a very multicultural club handle themselves against the rednecks? Could there be a battle within a battle?

Before I got deleted off the SL Facebook page, I noticed that the Brook have jumped on board to sponsor the sharks. Well done guys, another swimming pool for the sharks to play in. How did the owner of your other venue handle the news? Since SL Hotel has been very accommodating and have jumped back on board and all.

We have thrown a bit of coin at our u/16's this week to get a better performance out of them. From the lake of money.

So, Squeek, good to have you back after a hiatus, let me get this straight, Sanctuary Lakes had to apologise to Manor Lakes after its Facebook administrator said something along the lines of:
"Congratulations to our under 16's on their win over Money (oops, Manor) Lakes yesterday. Keep up the great work."?

Surely that's not true. Surely a club as strong and bold as Manor Lakes wouldn't be offended by tongue in cheek stuff such as that?

Is it true the Manor Lakes president reported it to the WRFL and got AFL Vic involved? Is it true the president put it on ML's own Facebook page and allowed ML members to denigrate Sanctuary Lakes without taking it off ML's Facebook page but demanded it be removed from Sanctuary Lakes' page, either directly or through AFL Vic? Is Manor Lakes soft or what? Tough enough to hunt down a group of 18 year old kids at a pub but not tough enough to stand a bit of Facebook banter. What a joke.

I must be from a tougher football background because where I come from, you're not supposed to like the opposition and cuddle them to make them feel better, you're supposed to seriously dislike them, bag them every chance you get and then keep disliking them until the next time. Obviously the supporters from Manor Lakes aren't so tough.

And surely that wasn't you on ML page talking about someone on Big Footy who writes under a pseudonym? Because unless you are Mr. Squeek Y. Clean, that's just a tad hypocritical.

I guess one thing is clear out of all that Facebook debacle this week Squeek, Manor Lakes is extremely precious about being called on having spent so much on their players (and of course the post was referring only to senior players when it mentioned Money Lakes).

Paulie2405 before posting make sure you get the facts right.
"Tough enough to hunt down a group of 18 yr old kids at a pub" you should know that no ML footballer or any member were involved Sanctuary lakes boys took on point cook boys at this pub, but nice try the only fool was you in this regards. As for ML president gotta give that bloke credit helping build a club that has been pretty competitive this year regardless of what resources it has taken is great for this new club.
