The crowd are into Jey, you can tell how badly they want him to be champ too, the crowds have wanted Jey as World Champ for a long time, they've never had a better time to pull the trigger. This is what people want.

I still see it as:

  • Uso vs Gunther
  • Rhodes vs Cena
  • Punk vs Reigns
  • Owens vs Orton
  • Stratton vs Flair
  • Ripley vs Sky

As my locks for WM.
Yep it's been wwe's moto since they started give the fans who they want as champ and right now Jey Uso is so over and has been for a while now

Enjoyed the PLE as a whole.

The women’s rumble was awesome until the Flair show. Alexa pop was huge, I loved it and the Bray tribute. Always good to see Trish too. Man I love the Liv and Chelsea characters, they’re so good! NXT girls were good, some talent coming through there.

Tag match was boring but whatever the ladder match was brutal. KO on fire in this feud, interesting Sami involvement.

The men’s was pretty standard until the big guns showed up. Great move having Dirty Dom show up after the Cena, Punk, Reigns moment.

Now the dust has settled it makes sense they try and push Jey, as boring as he is, the crowd love him. The other guys don’t need it, so much happening between them all, the road to Mania is going to be wild.

On holidays and only just had a chance to watch now after avoiding spoilers on socials. Shocked at the Men’s rumble result but that’s a great thing it’s been a long time since that.
Only critical part for me with the finish would have been to keep Seth Punk and Reigns at the end rather than just before.

Very heavy storyline driven with the big names , I can’t see Jey and Gunther again, this is the chance to get Jey even bigger and the whole bloodline thing Cody makes the most sense.

Cena can win the chamber and take on Gunther and Gunther wins that match could easily be the opener of the show.

KO Sami looks likely.

Rollins v Reigns could be huge given the storyline career of them but then you have Punk maybe the favour gets him into the match.

Not sure about Priest and Drew but I guess the story is there.

Where does it leave Randy? , AJ Styles maybe that’s the Logan Paul match?

Yeah I dunno how old we all are in here, and I dunno who he is, but there is definitely an audience for him obviously so I ain’t getting outraged!
My kids (9 and 11) popped when he came out. Obviously us old pricks are not the target audience for this stuff.

Enjoyed most of the show. Hopefully all the PPV’s aren’t that long going forward but understandable today with the two rumble matches. Love that they’ve moved back to the proper feud recap videos before matches and they were well done, no idea why they ever stopped them.

I didn’t really enjoy the women’s rumble outside a couple of spots but happy if it leads to Flair v Stratton. Jey winning was genuinely shocking especially given the last 8 or so left in the ring and once it was just him and Cena. He’s super over at the moment and you need a shock winner every few rumbles so they don’t get too predictable so happy to see where it goes.

I reckon it would more likelyhave been from when Otis fallaway slammed him on the aanounce table. It looks like a graze or a burn.
Was really surprised they did that spot with a non-wrestler. It all made perfect sense that Otis had just been eliminated so he could catch the guy and he wouldn't have to take a hard bump to the outside. Then he threw him into the announce table...

He's Zack Ryder 2011.

Zack got himself over, sold truckloads of merchandise and definitely deserved better than he got, but he was never going to be a major singles star.

The difference here is that due to timing and his family connections, Jey has been placed into that main event position despite a lot of individual shortcomings.

The way to save this, IMO, is have it open the show and have Gunther retain. MITB is Jey's level if they are hellbent on him holding a major title at some point.

I feel like a lot of people put the World Title on top much of a pedestal, It's important but it's ultimately another story telling tool. We've had a lot of long reigns the past few years and there are a heap of guys very deserving who haven't been able to win one or have even a short reign. The winged eagle belt felt like a way to give Owens a reign while still continuing Cody's reigns.

Guys like Sami and Jey absolutely should have a word title on the resumé. Hell, a guy like Jinder got a short reign so it's hard to argue that Jey would be worthy.

If Cena would have won, everybody would have complained it a part timer winning.

If Reigns would have won, everybody would have complained we’ve seen his story v Cody already.

If Punk would have won, everybody would have complained it was so predictable.

If Paul would have won, everybody would have complained that much the servers would have crashed.

Considering all the time and effort WWE have put into trying to get "Main Event" Jey Uso over they probably had to throw him the ball at some point to see how he goes

But he doesn't have a huge body of work when it comes to great singles matches but he has time to prepare for his big moment - hopefully better than last years "brother v brother" match which was terrible

Ladder match was a brutal war

Crowd were not into the tag match

Loved the mens. Ladies was a bit meh - don't mind Charlotte winning but not enough clout of talent at the end for mine

Dont watch every Raw/Smackdown, and mostly keep in touch with everything via Jim Cornetts podcasts.

my two cents.
Uso vs Gunther - they've been teasing the "you cant beat me ... "
Rock vs Reigns - if rocks schedule allows it, they have to pull the trigger on this. fans could be over the Bloodline by next year.
Punk vs Cody - maybe include a night one lead in i.e Punk vs Rollins winner faced Cody.
Cena to go over some schlub i.e. Orton / KO / SZ, in a match with zero build.

Thought it was a real good show, 70k fans (rounded up!) is insane with a Rumble. That will give them all the motivation they need to make this a 2 night event moving forward, splitting the men and womens Rumbles over two nights.

The Women's rumble had good moments but feel in a heap once Jax did that awkward looking spot eliminating 5-6 ladies. Sky/Morgan/Perez were the absolute stand-outs, personally would have had them as the final 3 with Sky winning but Flair winning sets up the Tiffany match and hopefully gets Ripley either Sky or Belair for Mania.

The Men's rumble went very much as I expected, I'm sorry but anyone thinking Cena had to win this just doesn't understand the story they are trying to tell with him, wouldn't be shocked if he loses the Chamber as well. Jey winning is a nice surprise, he is a top 3 babyface in the company, this didn't come from nowhere. As for who he wrestles at Mania these days they count any match for the title as a 'main event' regardless of where it sits in the show. Plus they have almost 7 weeks between the Chamber and Mania, Gunther could still lose the title.

Also the graphics they had during both Rumble's was fantastic.

He may not be your cup of tea in the ring but Jey Uso is in another stratosphere compared to Ryder when talking about popularity and being over is we are being honest.

The RR was not the right way to get into the main event picture. Jey is where edge was in 2005ish. Everyone knows he's a talent, but the push needs to be right. They could've almost done the exact same thing as edge, with a big cash in after a title match

Possibly, but compare thre rosters from then to now.

The current day star power is off the charts. He's in the tier below Punk, Roman, Rollins, Gunther, Owen's, Cody, Zayn, Drew just to name a few.

If we want to use the 'popularity' argument then I expect to see Joe Hendry winning MITB this year at an absolute minimum.

Now you’ve just used another talent not in the same stratosphere as Jey Uso…..

The other stories are rock solid. Can happen without the Rumble victory and be just as important, relevant and worth investing in.

We’ve just had an awesome unpredictable result which attaches a rocket to the already super over Jey and which makes absolute total sense to his story in getting another crack at Gunther. As he’d have no other right to that match after falling short.

Apples and Oranges when comparing Uso and Hendry. I really like Joe but he is more in the vein of Zakk Ryder in getting over online. Hendry is smart enough to know though its better to be a big fish in a small pond (TNA) then go over and get lost in the shuffle of WWE.

The push of Jey Uso has been 18 months in the making dating back to SummerSlam 2022 against Reigns and he has consistently gotten one of the biggest if not the biggest reaction at every show since. He got introduced last in the War Games match this past November over Roman Reigns and it wasn't out of place which shows you just how he is viewed internally.

If he is to face Gunther they will basically rehash the storyline that Sami had last year, underdog looked down on by the big bad Ring General. No guarantee it closes either night 1 or 2 either, like I said earlier in WWE parlance 'main eventing' Wrestlemania means you are in one of the feature matches, regardless of its place on the card.
