It’s odd people can’t see SNME for what it is… a promotional vehicle. A show ordered by NBC and a way for WWE to introduce or reintroduce fans. It’s a nostalgia trip mixed with the awesome production elements (pyro, lighting, cameras). It’s not a PLE. Were they expecting as much?

Sure they could throw in a twist or more story (the contract signing was all story) but they’re one week out from a stadium Royal Rumble and are now in WrestleMania season. They were never gonna hot shot any titles. They did a good job of showcasing one of their biggest stars in Ripley, the attractions of Strowman and Fatu, and the insanely over Jey Uso.

It’s subjective I guess but I thought it was still a solid show with solid matches and results. Logical results. Commercials weren’t a big deal for me as I watched it at a later time, I suppose broadcast television always has a lot of ads.

Seems more like a way to use WWE to promote other things with how much time is spent on advertising.

Yeah no argument. Outside of PLEs, cant watch WWE live, it's too much.

Hyping the Rumble nicely with Seth, Gunther, Logan Paul, Punk and Zayn then in the first two segments.
Interesting that Kross was involved in the backstage exchange scenes that had Punk, Zayn and Cody in it.

With Miz and the Wyatts moving to SD looks like they are moving Kross up into that scene around the top end on Raw and moving away from Ellering and AOP?

That son of a bitch.

How dare Bron Breaker begin a Royal Rumble promo buy saying (I think it was) "If you consider the numbers..."

Did every single person in the world expect we were about to get a glorious Steiner match promo?

Also, Royal Rumble prediction after the Seth/Heyman/Drew segment.

"The one behind the one" isn't an accident, nor are the renewed references to Punk's favour.

The favour for Punk is Brock Lesnar.:sick:)

Cause no one cares about them maybe???

Not worth the airtime if they barely get a reaction.

Why would they care though? Been pretty poorly used for a while. Teased a break up twice (fans were getting into for Theory too the first time) and not pulled trigger and they've been heel/comedy jobbers ever since.

Because they are worth nothing, wouldn't even bother... comedy/heel jobbers is their ceiling... nothing more

Dear god that closing promo between Punk and Cody was like days of our lives.

Dragged on and on, said not much, and just repeated the points they did make again & again.

Felt like I was watching that South Park wwe episode.

Also, there are a lot of rappers in Atlanta.

That is all I got from that Raw

official update WA ROO

And yet, incredibly, it could've been so much worse.

I don't know whether he is now, but Michael Cole has been a senior executive in WWE, and listening to the commentary he knew it was serious. They have a ringside doctor who was sitting 2 metres away. We also have a referee, although maybe he gets a pass cos there was a bit happening in the schmozz.

It is ridiculous that the match was allowed to continue after his head bounced off the announce table like a basketball.

But I suspect the issue is probably just a complete dearth of leadership with no one being empowered to call it off in that situation. How is Michael Cole not senior enough to summon a doctor, summon the ref, and have it called off?

but the refs all wear an earpiece, so then it falls on production and (mostly) the doctor for not stopping it.

Correct, and you could see him react to his ear piece, well after Cole had exclaimed a couple of times how serious it was. We'd already seen a replay before the referee reacted to it, and JD kind of waived him off cos he was starting to get up.

You I guess you're right, in that even if the ref didn't see it, someone in his ear piece had seen a friggen replay and should've been calling it off.
