Scrimmers was excellent for us this year, really held down CHB with aplomb. So happy for him that he has realised his potential and become a vital cog in our team, he always had the talent and has now taken his game to a new level. Stiff not to make the AA Squad.


4TH PLACE...

Worps backed up his great year last year with another super season this year once again finishing inside the Top 5 of the Yabby (3rd last year). Is such a vital and important piece to our Midfield and he is now hitting his peak. Doesn't get much recognition outside of the Hawks so hopefully that changes. Well done Jimmy!


3RD PLACE...

Who would've picked this at the start of the year? What a rise by the big fella to not only becoming our Number 1 Ruck but to also become one of the more dominant Rucks in the league. Has become almost our most important player, that's how huge his rise has been. Is only just getting started!


2ND PLACE...

What a year by the best HFF in the game. Absolute star of the comp and it was so good to see him rewarded with an AA jumper. He was leading for quite a bit of the Yabby but got overrun in the last 2 rounds. Potentially our next Captain and if he is, we are in excellent hands. Superb leader.

DUKE! After coming 2nd in the last 2 years, Newk has finally won his 1st Yabby Medal and it is well & truly deserved, especially after such a great 2nd half of the season. He is only going to keep improving from here and looks set to become one of the best midfielders in the comp soon. Congrats Duke!

Congratulations to Jai aka The Duke aka The Poowong Punisher. Really grabbed the attention of the footy world with his 2 finals performances. BIG game player.

Jai definitely a worthy winner and really happy to see Meeksy and Scrimmers crack a top 5 spot as well.

Usually the Yabby is pretty good at predicting the PCM as well so I figure the top 5 as above will be pretty close to the PCM as well.

Great work as always Hawkas1988, another excellent job at running the Yabby (apart from some unauthorised shore leave in Thailand earlier in the year 😜).

The big difference between this and the PCM, is in the yabby, only 5 players get votes, and they all get differing votes. In the PCM all players could get votes and get the same number of votes. All in all, the pcm values consistency over one off star brilliant performances. I'd expect to see Frost, Hardwick and Nash to do as well as these 5 in the PCM.

Once again, thank you very much to you, Hawkas1988 , for putting together this great fanbase initiative.

Duke Nukem. What a second half of the season he had. I thought he was quite poor throughout the first 5 rounds. I was calling for him to be sent back to Box Hill. But Sam made the right decision to keep faith in him and he was ultimately a bigger part in later season success than Will Day. I am not sure he is among the best of the best just yet, but he has taken a massive step towards that calibre. While I don't think he deserved votes in the semi-final (my position at the ground may have impacted that view), his Elimination Final performance is right there with one of the best performances in finals by a Hawthorn midfielder. I hope to see Mitchell rotate Newcombe and Day forward more next season.

Sam Frost and Blake Hardwick also deserve shoutouts. They may not win in the votes, but they were our most reliable (no surprise for Blake) and consistent players from start to finish. Moorey was superb as well. A great leader in the making both on and off the field.

The PCM throws up a couple of surprises for the top 10 but generally I have found the Yabby to be very good at predicting the top 5 in the PCM.

We shall see regardless!
