Just what everyone in the comp wants to hear..another good player going to Silvan :D

I suppose if they set the benchmark others just have to rise to beat it.

Just spoke to a member of nth heidelberg 05 team now coaches efl div 1 club told me green is well past his best mid 30s wouldnt get a kick in efl div1

i have also Goodlet is back to Liliydale as well some Brothers looking to leave the Cattery due to the re appointtment of coaches

Not touchie catpower just stating a fact, he only has to play in the valley not in the efl.

On the brothers leaving will have to speak to Tony & Frank Ripepi to see if they are leaving.

Canterbury's admission into an 11-team EFL Division 4 opens the door for a possible move from Belgrave or other YVMDFL side into the EFL.

Pretty attractive prospect you would have to say.

Hey Catzz, a quick English/French lesson...

touché (French: touched, Pronounced Too-shay) is used as an acknowledgement of a hit, i.e. good call.

touchy easily upset, liable to become or make somebody angry or upset.

Wouldn't turn down too many compliments on here Catzz, they're few and far between.

Spot on Playinghurt, i think Catzz has gone mental! I saw him licking his paws last week after a nice bowl of milk!!!!!!!

i dont know about tony and frank but there i am sure there is another set of brothers playing at the cattery and i am sure they wont be there next year

Isn't there a time frame from being accepted into actually competing? I would have thought that applying in November would be a bit late for 2009. Guess that doesn't rule out 2010 and beyond.

On the subject of NFL, im not from this league but i hear Powelltown have signed two massive recruits in their playing/coach Barry and R.Collins from Thomastown. This is a huge bonus for a club i hear was non existant not long ago. Two gun footballers (both played TAC Cup and R.Collins also in the VFL) and both very good leaders, no doubt more will follow and i will surely be keeping an eye on the club and their results.
Congrats Powelltown and good luck to the both of them.

have heard Mt Evelyn are pleased with recruits so far. Coach has brought his brother a ruckman and they have also signed another ruckman from Lilydale. Farrugia back, JD to play and a few others likely to come to training to have a look. Havent been competitive for a few years so starting to look a bit better

Mount Evelyn were quite competitive this season and could be a bit of a "sleeping giant." They have one of the best, if not the, followings in the YVMDFL and they might just be building into a very solid outfit.

I think that clubs have been in dialogue with the EFL already but you could be right.

Any predictions for Division 2? Olinda to contend and maybe a resugence of Powelltown? Thornton will be strong and you'd expect Emerald's young list to step up again. they played some outstanding football at times last season.

Shame the same can't be said about there ground would have to be the worst in the comp no grass just dirt surely the league would have to take some action if the ground is the same this season.

have a look at a few others not just one. Upweys isnt a dream to play on and Silvans was worse than Mt Evelyn until this year. What can the league do as if they penalise one club others will have to be included? playing games at other locations doesnt work as only lose spectators and cut up someone elses ground.
in saying all this wont be an issue if it doesnt rain and I reckon if Mts have a few talls they would be happy for a dry ground every week.

Monky will coach there next year apparently he has signed up stolly for two years which maybe threw him a lifeline and will see him remain at the helm for another year. rumour has it the younger playing group is recieving alot of attention from clubs both ends of the highway...

incorrect. Stolly playing at TTU again by my information.

Havent been around for a while but things have been active off field since the end of the year with plenty of rumors flying around.

Certainly some good coaching appointments with Gembrook probably leading the way with their new hierarchy. Some good recruits to the club too in the form of the Clark brothers who will be in the top echelon of players in the league.

My mail also informs me that Wandin and the Burras have been very active as well and certainly have been selling their virtues to many prospective recruits.

Has anyone got any news regarding the new Thornton Eildon coach for 2009 or is Pup returning again?

Also Powelltown's new coach and assistant will be great recruits for the club - both can play but will they be able to coach as well?

Emerald have also been busy as well and with big Michael Scoon at the helm they will again be a premiership contender. Olinda FC started training the other night and had a great turn up and also some new recruits.

Will probably improve significantly with the adding of Farrugia and a couple of other players including the new coach who is a good player.

Apart from their terrible ground, have always enjoyed playing at Mount Evelyn and their hospitality is second to none - especially after those more often than not cold showers!!! :)
