Thanks. The decision is compounded by the MRP having ex Saints Luke Ball and Nathan Burke making the determinations. We should challenge and cite precedence.
Yeah who doesn't trust a panel loaded up with ex-Vic players.

Also the MRP doesn't take into account precedent at all. Its a massive chook-lotto of favouritism and nonsense.

Bull...t decision.

Brisbane defender Daniel Merrett was cleared for a crude late shot on Melbourne forward Cam Peterson last year.

"Merrett was reported for the hit, which left Pedersen bloodied and needing bandages to play out the game, but the match review panel deemed it “a legitimate attempt to spoil” and the high contact accidental."

Should appeal.
This.

He dead shed snipe the young lad and half broke his face with a round arm motion.
Yeo was a stright arm, punch of the ball that missed. Zero intent and not even half the impact of Merretts one last year.

Yeo got two down to one. Yarren recieved 4 down to 3. So are they saying Yarrens hit on Chappy was only twice as bad as Yeo's attempt to spoil?

Appeal. **** the VAFL. Sick of the Victorian lovefest.

This only makes sense if the MRP has simply seen that he was concussed in the medical report and assumed it was because of the Yeo hit.

IF thats the case.. just proves what a bunch of muppets they are.. giving a bloke 2 weeks down to 1 on an assumption! Professional sport are we??

If there is some minor structural damage to Webster how can they know it was from the yeo incident instead of the dempster incident anyway!?

It was a bit reckless by Yeo, to be fair to the MRP.

I think he knew he had no chance to get to spoil the ball so tried to chop his arms, which every player in the game does. But the St Kilda player's arms weren't up high enough and he got him in the face.

It's a bit shit because he really wasn't that close to the ball - the St Kilda player was going to mark that every day of the week. It was just unfortunate that he got him in the face instead of the arms.

Well on Game Day on Channel 7 (Of which Luke Ball is a panelist) Jude Bolton was still strongly implying the concussion was caused by Yeo. Seems like no-one in the media paid attention to Richardson's presser.

Huh? On the slow motion replays I thought he was only an inch or two from the ball.

One of these is a strike.

This is the kind of stuff that makes AFL a laughing stock amongst other codes.

Mitchell - random high cheap shot no where near the play. No report
McVeigh - late high cheap shot. No report
Yeo - accidental high shot in the play. Report

The only bloke playing the ball gets rubbed out :drunk:

I can imagine Yeoy was thinking - "I'm going to knock the ball out of this campaigners hands, run onto it and kick a beeooty from 50" Then, crunch...oops.

I think the clear message is that the MRP gets squeamish at the sight of a little claret.

An example of careless conduct would be where a Player collides with another Player who has taken a mark and where contact occurs just after the mark has been taken The offending Player has a duty of care to avoid any contact which would constitute a Reportable Offence by slowing his momentum as much as he reasonably can and a failure to do so constitutes carelessness from the afl tribunal 2015 guide. On that basis even if it's seconds or cm in it Yeo is stuffed.
Look forward to players if they think they can't reach the spoil in time pulling out and getting lambasted for being soft.

Ridiculous. Would be annoyed if any player from any club copped a week for that. If he wasn't bleeding wouldn't have been the same decision.

I think they just looked at the fixture and went
MRP - "ohh the fixtures not fair, we will fix it by giving Geelong a hand, the Eagles are 2nd so they wont miss Yeo as much as Gill will miss Geelong not playing finals. What do you think headless chook?"

HEADLESS CHOOK - " "

MRP - " what's that boss? 2 weeks down to one with a guilty plea..."

What's the code of conduct for an elbow to the head? Or is there a get-out clause saying it's fair game if it happens during a Grand Final replay?

So you can read minds and apparently do detailed analysis of all options in under 0.2 of a second? Awesome

I don't think we will contest. The still someone posted earlier shows the StKilda bloke with two hands on the ball and Yeo's foot is still on the ground...would be very risky as it is easy to argue that he didn't have to attempt the spoil.

It's just a shit media driven hunt when we can see plenty of evidence that similar or worse is let go or fined every round. I'm baffled that Cameron can run passed the ball and crunch Cheney head high and that's just a fine as a comparison.

But if you watch it (you may have to pause frames) he tries to pull his arm away, and furthermore does not hit him at all with the fist. The collision between Websters nose and Elliot Yeo is only from his arm, so therefore you would think he fulfilled his duty of care to slow his momentum by avoiding collision of his fist with Websters face.

Even more so the McVeigh incident. Clearly late, clearly forceful at his head, and yet nothing because 'its a slightly late tackle, oops.'

Not arguing with that the real time replay shows it's a snap decision to go for the spoil. The tribunal though will likely use the reasoning I quoted to muddy the waters again.

If Waite only copped a fine last week then I don't see how Yeo can be suspended.
